Senior Director, U.S. National Security Partnerships

About the role

PsiQuantum is seeking a Senior Director, U.S. National Security Partnerships to spearhead the company's strategic engagement with the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and allied national security institutions. The hire will own the end-to-end lifecycle of high-impact partnerships, from initial contact and strategic alignment to execution and long-term relationship management. This role is responsible for shaping and advancing collaborations that directly support U.S. national security objectives and accelerate the deployment of fault-tolerant quantum computing capabilities. The Senior Director will translate complex quantum technologies into actionable solutions for mission-critical challenges faced by government and defense stakeholders. They will act as the primary interface and trusted advisor for key policy, acquisition, and operational entities within the national security ecosystem. Success in this position will require the ability to navigate complex interagency processes and align PsiQuantum's technical vision with strategic defense priorities. This leader will define and drive the national security narrative for quantum computing within the U.S. government.

What you'll do

Define and execute the national security partnership strategy for PsiQuantum in collaboration with the Department of War, the Intelligence Community, and other U.S. government agencies.

Identify and cultivate senior-level relationships with defense officials, intelligence leaders, and acquisition decision-makers to advance strategic objectives.

Shape and lead high-value collaborations that position PsiQuantum as a trusted partner in advancing U.S. national security through quantum computing.

Translate complex quantum computing capabilities into clear, actionable applications for military, intelligence, and operational command stakeholders.

Coordinate with internal engineering, product, and operations teams to ensure alignment between quantum hardware roadmaps and national security use cases.

Lead the development and delivery of proposals, technical briefs, and strategic communications for government stakeholders and acquisition programs.

Establish and maintain PsiQuantum's reputation as a leader and credible authority in the national security quantum computing domain.

Manage and prioritize partnership initiatives to ensure timely execution and alignment with both government timelines and company objectives.

Collaborate with government affairs and legal teams to ensure all engagements comply with regulatory, security, and export control requirements.

Provide regular strategic updates and insights to executive leadership on the status, value, and risks of national security partnerships.

Develop and implement measurement frameworks to assess the impact and success of national security collaborations.

Act as a subject matter expert in forums, working groups, and industry events related to quantum computing and national security.

Support the expansion of existing partnerships by identifying new application areas and collaborative opportunities within defense and intelligence communities.

Represent PsiQuantum in classified and unclassified meetings with senior officials to articulate the strategic value of quantum computing capabilities.

Build and maintain a deep network across the national security ecosystem, including think tanks, research labs, and allied private sector partners.

Ensure all partnership activities are aligned with the long-term business strategy and risk management framework of the company.

Champion the adoption of PsiQuantum's fault-tolerant quantum systems within critical national security workflows and acquisition pathways.

Lead cross-functional workshops and solution design sessions to co-create quantum-enabled capabilities for defense and intelligence missions.

Requirements

U.S. citizenship is required for this role.

Candidates must possess a demonstrated history of senior-level engagement with U.S. Department of Defense or Intelligence Community stakeholders.

A proven track record of managing high-stakes, complex partnerships in a government or defense context is mandatory.

Extensive experience with U.S. federal acquisition regulations, compliance frameworks, and security protocols is required.

Strong understanding of the national security landscape, including key policies, directives, and strategic priorities, is essential.

Exceptional communication skills are required to articulate highly technical concepts to senior government officials and non-technical stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in sensitive, ambiguous, and fast-paced national security environments is required.

Candidates must have experience working with classified information and meeting the necessary security clearance requirements.

A background in quantum computing, advanced computing architectures, or related emerging technologies is required.
