What you'll do

• Provide first-level support to users, addressing hardware and software issues promptly and efficiently.
• Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems and networks, ensuring optimal performance.
• Monitor system performance and conduct regular checks to identify and resolve potential issues before they escalate.
• Collaborate with the IT team to implement software updates, patches, and security measures to protect company data.
• Maintain accurate documentation of IT processes, system configurations, and user guides to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
• Support the onboarding process for new employees by setting up their workstations and providing necessary training on IT systems.
• Assist in managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls to ensure compliance with company policies.
• Participate in IT projects, contributing ideas and assisting with the implementation of new technologies that enhance operational efficiency.
• Respond to help desk tickets and prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact on business operations.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements to existing systems.
• Conduct basic troubleshooting for network connectivity issues, escalating complex problems to senior IT staff as needed.
• Foster a positive relationship with users by providing excellent customer service and maintaining a user-friendly approach to IT support.

Requirements

• A degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 1-2 years of experience in an IT support role or similar position.
• Familiarity with Windows and macOS operating systems, as well as common software applications.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on user support and training.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of IT security best practices and experience with antivirus and firewall solutions.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote support tools.
• Basic scripting or programming skills in languages such as PowerShell or Python.
• Certification in ITIL, CompTIA A+, or similar credentials would be advantageous.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other productivity tools.
• Experience with remote desktop applications and help desk software.
• Knowledge of hardware components and troubleshooting techniques for desktops and laptops.
• Familiarity with database management systems and basic SQL queries.
• Understanding of backup solutions and disaster recovery processes.
