About the role
You will own the end to end delivery of complex features that define the future of outpatient therapy software. You will partner with clinical and operational stakeholders to translate ambiguous healthcare problems into robust technical solutions. You will shape the engineering roadmap by influencing strategy and defining product architecture for scalable and maintainable systems. You will mentor engineers across the stack, elevating the entire team through code reviews, technical guidance, and thoughtful retrospectives. You will ensure that every feature released meets the highest standards of reliability, security, and compliance for a healthcare environment. You will participate actively in design reviews and product ceremonies to align technical decisions with evolving business needs. You will conduct technical interviews to assess senior level talent and help build a high performing engineering culture. You will take ownership of the full lifecycle of your work, from initial discovery through deployment and ongoing optimization in production.

What you'll do
Architect and implement new features for the Prompt Therapy Solutions Inc. product suite from initial concept through production deployment.
Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications that guide development and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
Oversee engineering grooming sessions and refine backlog items to enable accurate estimation and efficient delivery.
Mentor up and coming engineers by providing hands on guidance, code reviews, and constructive feedback on implementation details.
Lead technical design reviews and contribute to product retrospectives to drive continuous improvement of the codebase and processes.
Participate actively in code review processes to maintain high quality, readability, and long term maintainability of the software.
Conduct technical interviews for senior and mid level candidates to assess both technical depth and cultural fit within the team.
Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders to identify new challenges in outpatient therapy and prioritize solutions that reduce waste and improve care.
Ensure technical decisions support scalability, performance, and compliance requirements inherent in healthcare software.
Champion smart work practices by owning your workload and focusing on sustainable, high impact delivery without unnecessary overtime.
Engage in ongoing learning and exploration of technologies that can enhance the rehab therapy experience for patients and clinical teams.
Support the migration and modernization of legacy workflows into streamlined digital experiences that reduce paper and administrative burden.
Verify that implemented features meet acceptance criteria and are validated through testing, observation, and feedback from real users.
Contribute to the long term product vision by identifying opportunities to differentiate Prompt in a rapidly evolving healthcare market.
Requirements
You bring a minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on full stack web technologies.
You possess excellent communication skills and can comfortably articulate technical decisions, tradeoffs, and rationale to both technical and non technical audiences.
You have a genuine desire to contribute to the growth of the product, the engineering team, and the strategic direction of Prompt Therapy Solutions Inc.
You have a working knowledge of the technologies listed in the technology section, or equivalent experience in other modern stacks.
You have prior enterprise engineering experience, with a track record of building systems that handle real world scale and constraints.
You have experience working with model view controller (MVC) architectures and understanding of separation of concerns within web applications.
You are comfortable working in a fast moving, agile environment where priorities can shift based on clinical and operational needs.
You understand the importance of maintaining a healthy work culture and you align with the philosophy of smart work over hard work for sustainable productivity.
Nice to have
Experience contributing to open source projects or public repositories that demonstrate engineering best practices.
Familiarity with healthcare workflows, clinical documentation, or revenue cycle concepts in outpatient therapy settings.
Exposure to regulatory considerations such as privacy, security, and data integrity common in healthcare software.
Experience with automated testing strategies, including unit, integration, and end to end testing for critical user workflows.
Background in performance optimization and monitoring for web applications serving high concurrency.

Technology

The role requires a heavy contribution to codebases, and is not intended for engineering managers at this time, though growth opportunities may become available in the future.
