What you'll do
- Design and implement cloud architecture solutions that meet the needs of various business units while ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for cloud-based systems.
- Lead the migration of existing applications and services to cloud platforms, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Develop and maintain cloud governance frameworks to manage security, compliance, and cost management effectively.
- Optimize cloud resources and services to enhance performance, reliability, and scalability while minimizing costs.
- Monitor and troubleshoot cloud environments to ensure high availability and performance, implementing solutions to address any issues that arise.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and trends, evaluating their potential impact on our organization and recommending adoption where appropriate.
- Prepare and present technical documentation, reports, and presentations to stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of complex concepts.
- Work closely with DevOps teams to integrate cloud solutions into CI/CD pipelines, enhancing deployment efficiency and reliability.
- Participate in the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans for cloud-based services.
- Engage with vendors and service providers to evaluate and select cloud solutions that align with our strategic goals.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud architecture or a related field, with a proven track record of successful cloud implementations.
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with relevant certifications preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements, including GDPR, HIPAA, and others.
- Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, with experience in automating cloud deployments.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools to ensure the reliability and performance of cloud services.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
Nice to have
- Experience with serverless architectures and microservices design principles.
- Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols relevant to cloud environments.
- Familiarity with database technologies, both SQL and NoSQL, in a cloud context.
- Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role within a technology team.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
