What you'll do
- Conduct site assessments and evaluations to gather data and inform project planning and execution.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop detailed engineering plans and schedules that align with project goals.
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of maritime systems and equipment, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to field teams, addressing issues as they arise during project execution.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including reports, drawings, and specifications, to track project progress and compliance.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety protocols and procedures to promote a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure clear communication and alignment on project objectives and requirements.
- Participate in training and mentoring junior engineers and field staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Utilize engineering software and tools to analyze data and create models that support project design and implementation.
- Monitor project budgets and timelines, providing regular updates to management and stakeholders on progress and any potential challenges.
- Conduct inspections and quality control checks to ensure that all work meets established standards and specifications.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in technology, integrating new methods and practices into project workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field) from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in field engineering or a similar role, preferably within the maritime industry.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, practices, and standards applicable to maritime projects.
- Proficiency in engineering software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) for design and analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and make decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed, which may include extended periods away from home.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to obtain any necessary certifications or licenses for specific projects.

- Hands-on experience with maritime systems and equipment, including propulsion, navigation, and communication systems.
