About the role
You will own the external narrative for Preply at the highest level, shaping how the company is perceived across global markets and media. This role requires you to build and operate a scalable storytelling system that connects product, brand, and leadership into a unified narrative engine. You will define how Preply shows up in the world, positioning the company as a leader in AI-driven learning and marketplace innovation. You are the architect of Preply's story, ensuring it drives tangible business outcomes in growth, hiring, and brand authority. This position is designed for a builder who operates at the intersection of brand, product, and talent to influence without direct authority. You will be responsible for eliminating dependency on any single storyteller and creating infrastructure that sustains Preply's narrative over time.

Define and evolve Preply's global narrative, including AI and product positioning, marketplace dynamics for tutors and learners, and social impact tied to the company mission.
Own how Preply is represented across all external touchpoints, ensuring coherence in messaging and visual identity.
Establish Preply as a category-defining voice in AI-powered learning through clear positioning and consistent thought leadership.
Build a scalable storytelling system that connects inputs from product, research, and data to outputs such as PR, SEO, content, and executive communications.
Move the organization from one-off campaigns toward repeatable narrative infrastructure that supports long-term brand building.
Define and scale a global employer narrative, creating targeted storytelling for key audiences such as AI, engineering, design, and tutors.
Partner with Talent to directly influence hiring outcomes through compelling narratives that attract top professionals.
Shape leadership voice and positioning, developing strong points of view on AI in education, marketplace dynamics, and the future of learning.
Drive executive visibility in Tier 1 media, conferences, and long-form content to amplify Preply's authority in the industry.
Align senior stakeholders across Brand, Product, Talent, and Marketing to create frameworks that enable teams to contribute to a unified narrative.
Own both strategy and execution, personally contributing to writing, storytelling, and high-impact narrative moments.
Create communication strategies for high-stakes situations and prepare leadership for complex media environments.
Anticipate and manage reputational risks through proactive narrative planning and crisis leadership.
Eliminate bottlenecks by building systems that allow many people to contribute to and activate the Preply story.
Drive measurable impact on business outcomes by linking narrative work to growth, hiring, and market perception.
Requirements
You bring 12+ years of experience in communications, content, or narrative strategy within high-growth tech environments.
You have a proven track record of owning company-level narrative or market positioning and connecting storytelling to business impact.
You demonstrate strong experience working closely with senior stakeholders and executives to advance strategic objectives.
You operate effectively as both a strategic leader and a hands-on executor, comfortable wearing multiple hats to drive results.
You possess native fluency in English, and Spanish is a strong additional asset for broader reach.
You have a deep understanding of the AI and LLM landscape and its implications for narrative and positioning.
You are skilled at building scalable systems and repeatable frameworks rather than relying on one-off initiatives.
You combine strong editorial instincts with data-driven thinking to guide narrative decisions and measure effectiveness.
You are a high-owner individual who thrives in ambiguous environments and takes responsibility for complex outcomes.
Nice to have
Experience in decentralized narrative models and systems thinking to design coherent structures across teams.
Background in marketplace dynamics, education technology, or platforms connecting supply and demand at scale.
Expertise in employer branding and talent storytelling with a track record of influencing hiring pipelines.
Familiarity with Tier 1 media landscapes, conference programming, and long-form editorial environments.
Comfort working with data, product analytics, and research insights to validate narrative strategies.
Practical notes
This role is based in London and requires full-time on-site engagement.
Relocation support and visa sponsorship may be available depending on individual circumstances.
The position reports directly to the Chief Brand Officer and requires frequent collaboration across global teams.
Candidates must be able to start within four weeks of offer acceptance.
