Preply is a human-led, tech-enabled learning platform that connects over 100,000 tutors teaching 90+ languages to learners in 180 countries, recently achieving unicorn status with a $150M Series D. The Senior Data Analyst will partner with the FP&A team to transform data into strategic insights that empower leaders to make informed decisions and track progress effectively. This role owns the analytical backbone for strategic planning, forecasting, and evaluating key business drivers across Product, Marketing, Operations, and Finance. You will translate ambiguous business questions into executive-ready recommendations and measurable impact, directly influencing Preply's roadmap toward IPO. The position requires a human-led approach enhanced by AI tools to improve analytical productivity and decision-making. You will lead end-to-end analytical initiatives to uncover growth opportunities and drive measurable business success.

What you'll do
- Partner with the FP&A team to provide analytical insights that shape strategic planning, forecasting, and company performance.
- Deliver executive-ready analyses and presentations that support leadership decision-making, fundraising activities, and Preply's roadmap toward IPO.
- Lead end-to-end analytical initiatives, translating ambiguous business questions into executive-ready recommendations and measurable business impact.
- Develop forecasting models, scenario analyses, driver-based models, and opportunity sizing to evaluate strategic decisions and quantify financial impact.
- Connect Product, Marketing, and Operational initiatives with business performance, identifying the key drivers behind revenue, profitability, and efficiency.
- Conduct deep dives into business performance to uncover growth opportunities, operational improvements, and emerging risks.
- Partner across Finance, Product, Marketing, Operations, and the Data Chapter to establish a trusted, consistent view of business performance and key metrics.
- Continuously improve analytical frameworks, business metrics, and decision-support models that enable scalable, data-informed decision making.
- Leverage AI tools to enhance analytical workflows, streamline data processing, and improve the accuracy of insights delivered to stakeholders.
- Own the design and maintenance of advanced Excel or Google Sheets models to support complex calculations and scenario testing.
- Create and refine data visualizations using tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI to communicate findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Define and track core marketplace and financial metrics to assess performance and inform strategic adjustments.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into analytical requirements and actionable insights.
- Document methodologies and assumptions to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and alignment across the analytics function.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Business Analytics, Growth Analytics, Financial Analytics, or a similar analytical role.
- Strong SQL skills and confidence independently working with large, complex datasets.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence VP and C-level stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking, with the ability to simplify complex business problems into actionable insights.
- Proven experience building forecasting models, scenario analyses, financial impact models, and driver-based analyses.
- Experience leading cross-functional analytical initiatives from problem definition through implementation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, curious mindset with strong business intuition and a focus on pragmatic problem solving.
- Familiarity with AI tools that improve analytical productivity and decision-making.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets modeling skills.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
- Comfort working with structured frameworks to analyze business performance and drive recommendations.
- Willingness to collaborate deeply with peers across Finance, Product, Marketing, Operations, and Data to align on metrics and insights.
Nice to have
- Experience partnering closely with FP&A or Corporate Finance teams.
- Experience in fast-growing technology companies, marketplaces, SaaS, or subscription businesses.
- Comfortable working with P&L statements and financial performance analysis.
- Familiarity with key business and marketplace metrics such as LTV, CAC, payback period, retention, and ARPU.
- Background in strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital.
- Experience with Snowflake and Looker.

This is a full-time role based in Barcelona. The position requires collaboration across time zones and close partnership with senior stakeholders to support Preply's strategic planning and growth trajectory.
