About the role
Postman seeks a Solutions Engineer to support its expanding enterprise customer base across Israel. You will serve as a technical advisor throughout the sales process, helping organizations understand how the Postman platform can improve their API workflows and development practices. This role bridges Sales, Product, and Customer Success teams while shaping customer API strategies and driving product adoption. You will act as a trusted advisor to technical stakeholders, guiding them through the complexities of API lifecycle management and demonstrating how Postman can solve specific business challenges. You will translate complex technical concepts into clear narratives that resonate with both technical and executive audiences. Your work will directly influence customer confidence and accelerate the adoption of Postman within strategic accounts. You will be the primary technical resource for the sales team during the evaluation and proof of concept phases.

What you'll do
- Conduct in-depth technical discovery sessions to uncover customer challenges and map them to Postman features that deliver measurable value.
- Engage with technical leaders and executive sponsors to advise on comprehensive API lifecycle best practices and strategic alignment.
- Architect and deliver customized proofs of concept, live demonstrations, interactive workshops, and hands-on sessions that are directly tied to defined customer success criteria.
- Partner closely with Sales, Product Management, and Customer Success to synchronize plans, share intelligence, and drive measurable customer outcomes.
- Maintain a current and expert-level understanding of Postman's evolving capabilities, the broader API ecosystem, and emerging trends such as AI in API design, DevOps, and API security.
- Collect and synthesize detailed customer feedback, channeling insights back to Product Management and Engineering teams to inform future product roadmaps and enhancements.
- Serve as a prominent representative of Postman at industry conferences, virtual events, and webinars, showcasing thought leadership and real-world expertise.
- Develop and author high-quality technical content, including detailed blogs, step-by-step demos, and practical tutorials that highlight successful use cases.
- Evaluate complex customer environments and propose architectural patterns utilizing REST and GraphQL APIs alongside API lifecycle management tools.
- Guide customers through the configuration and optimization of API security policies, testing strategies, and documentation standards within the Postman platform.
- Leverage deep knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation to illustrate how Postman integrates into modern software delivery workflows.
- Provide technical leadership on cloud platform integrations, specifically within AWS, Azure, and GCP environments, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Act as a subject matter expert for Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, Kong, and Apigee, addressing nuanced questions during the sales cycle.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to reproduce and resolve technical issues encountered during customer proof of concept exercises.
- Proactively identify opportunities to expand Postman usage within existing customer organizations through feature discovery and value realization.
Requirements
- Possess 2 or more years of hands-on experience in technical consulting, pre-sales engineering, or similar client-facing technical roles.
- Bring a minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience to the role, demonstrating a strong coding background.
- Exhibit deep expertise in one or more of the following critical areas: REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, API lifecycle management tools such as Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, Kong, and Apigee, CI/CD and automation, and cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Demonstrate a strong command of modern software development practices and methodologies relevant to API design and delivery.
- Communicate effectively in English, with the confidence and clarity necessary to lead customer-facing presentations and technical discussions.
- Show a demonstrated willingness to travel up to 25% within the region, ready to engage with clients at their locations.
- Accept the requirement for occasional global travel to participate in company events, training sessions, and strategic meetings.
- Maintain the ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies, translating complex features into understandable concepts for diverse audiences.
- Thrive in a collaborative environment, working effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills, capable of analyzing intricate technical issues and proposing viable solutions in a timely manner.
