About the role

This role centers on expanding access to specialized midlife care through a virtual, synchronous model that prioritizes patient-centered treatment. You will own the full clinical lifecycle of a perimenopausal or menopausal patient during video visits, from initial assessment to ongoing management and treatment adjustments. This position requires a high degree of autonomy, clinical expertise, and dedication to evidence-based practices in menopause medicine. You will be a key provider within the Pomelo network, directly responsible for the quality of care delivered through the platform. The focus is on therapeutic decision-making, patient education, and ensuring each interaction meets strict standards of safety and efficacy. As a clinician, you will navigate complex treatment pathways while maintaining strict adherence to legal and regulatory frameworks. Your work will contribute to a growing repository of knowledge aimed at improving outcomes for individuals navigating this stage of life.

What you'll do

• Conduct synchronous video visits with patients navigating perimenopause and menopause to address their specific health concerns.
• Assess a wide range of symptoms and develop dynamic treatment plans, prescribing and managing medications such as hormone therapy, GLP-1s, and non-hormonal Rx when clinically appropriate and legally permitted.
• Maintain meticulous, timely, and accurate documentation for every patient interaction to ensure continuity of care and regulatory compliance.
• Adhere strictly to applicable clinical, documentation, privacy, quality, and compliance standards for all visits conducted through the Pomelo platform.
• Exercise robust clinical judgment to evaluate patient needs and adjust care plans independently during virtual consultations.
• Utilize telehealth platforms, video conferencing tools, and electronic documentation systems with proficiency to deliver seamless virtual care.
• Engage in continuous learning to stay current with evolving guidelines and best practices in midlife health and menopause management.
• Collaborate implicitly with the Pomelo support team to ensure administrative and clinical workflows run smoothly for each patient encounter.
• Prioritize patient safety by recognizing clinical boundaries and knowing when to escalate care or refer to other specialists when necessary.
• Optimize the patient journey by balancing empathetic communication with efficient clinical decision-making during scheduled visits.
• Leverage data and patient feedback to refine treatment approaches and improve the overall quality of care delivered through the network.
• Uphold the highest ethical standards in all professional interactions, ensuring integrity in the delivery of virtual healthcare services.

Requirements

• You have an active APP license (CNM, WHNP, or NP) in Texas, where you will see patients, ensuring you are legally authorized to practice within this specific jurisdiction.
• You have a minimum of 3 years of menopause care experience, including prescribing and managing hormone therapy, GLP-1s, and non-hormonal Rx, demonstrating a proven track record in this specialty.
• You're comfortable using telehealth platforms, video conferencing tools, and electronic documentation systems, navigating these technologies with ease and efficiency.
• You have strong clinical judgment with the ability to work independently during patient visits, making sound decisions without direct oversight.
• You are committed to following all Pomelo Care protocols, policies, and clinical guidelines to maintain consistency and safety across the network.
• You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, ensuring clear and compassionate interactions with patients in a virtual setting.
• You hold the necessary credentials and certifications to practice as an advanced practice provider in the field of menopause care.
• You understand the importance of maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations in all digital interactions.

Practical notes

This is a 1099 independent contractor role and is not an employment (W-2) position. As an independent contractor, you will not be eligible for employee benefits, including but not limited to health insurance, paid time off, workers' compensation, or unemployment benefits. Pomelo Care will provide services to support your independent practice, such as client matching, billing and administrative support.

• Hours: You choose the days and times you make yourself available for Pomelo patient visits.
• Travel: No travel is required as services are delivered remotely via telehealth platforms.
• Visa: Not applicable for this role as it is based in HQ.
• Deadlines: Providers must meet all clinical, documentation, and compliance standards for visits conducted through Pomelo; there is no guaranteed minimum number of visits or earnings.

COMPENSATION

Providers are compensated on a per-visit basis. Rates may vary by visit type, visit length, visit timing, payer requirements, and other program factors. Pomelo does not guarantee a minimum number of visits or earnings. Based on current visit rates and typical visit lengths, completed visits may result in approximate earnings equivalent to $100.00 to $120.00 per active visit hour.
