About the role
Pmat is seeking a Lead Systems Integration Engineer to support the Minotaur and RAS programs based in San Diego. This role centers on bringing together hardware and software components into a unified, functioning system that meets all performance and reliability requirements across the full integration lifecycle. The engineer will work closely with design, test, and operations teams to plan and carry out integration activities, coordinate cross-functional efforts, identify risks early, and resolve technical issues that arise during build and test phases. The position requires strong technical judgment and the ability to communicate complex integration topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders while driving integration efforts forward and maintaining alignment with program milestones, deliverables, and overall objectives.

What you'll do
- Lead the end-to-end integration of hardware and software subsystems for the Minotaur and RAS programs
- Develop and execute comprehensive integration test plans to verify system-level functionality, performance, and reliability
- Coordinate with engineering teams across multiple disciplines to resolve interface and compatibility issues during integration
- Manage integration schedules and track progress against program-level commitments, milestones, and delivery dates
- Identify and troubleshoot system-level failures during integration and test activities conducted on site at Pmat
- Document all integration procedures, results, and lessons learned for future reference, reuse, and knowledge sharing
- Serve as the primary point of contact for integration-related decisions and technical escalations from vendors
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure integration activities stay on schedule and remain within defined scope
- Review subsystem designs for integration compatibility and identify potential risks early in the development process
- Guide junior engineers through integration processes and help them build relevant technical skills and confidence
- Participate in design reviews and integration readiness reviews to confirm that all subsystems are prepared for integration activities
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in systems integration within a complex engineering or large-scale program environment
- Strong understanding of system-level design principles and integration methodologies and systems engineering approaches
- Ability to manage multiple integration tasks and shifting priorities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective cross-team coordination and technical planning sessions
- Experience leading technical efforts in a structured program environment with defined milestones and deliverables
- Familiarity with test and measurement equipment commonly used in integration and verification activities on site
- Relevant degree in engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting with evolving requirements and shifting project timelines
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-moving engineering organization

- Prior experience with complex systems integration in a technical or engineering organization
- Familiarity with model-based systems engineering tools and formal modeling practices and associated frameworks
- Experience managing integration activities across multiple sites or external vendor teams and contractor organizations
