What you'll do

Design and implement scalable and secure cloud architectures that align with client requirements and industry best practices.
Collaborate with software engineers and system administrators to integrate cloud services into existing infrastructure.
Conduct thorough assessments of current systems and recommend improvements to optimize performance and reduce costs.
Develop and maintain cloud governance policies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and security protocols.
Lead the migration of on-premises applications and data to cloud environments, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Monitor cloud performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise, implementing solutions to enhance reliability and efficiency.
Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and trends, evaluating their potential impact on the organization and clients.
Prepare and present technical documentation and project updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment on project goals.
Work with clients to understand their business needs and translate them into technical requirements for cloud solutions.
Participate in the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to safeguard critical data and applications.
Engage in regular communication with vendors and partners to explore new cloud services and tools that can benefit the organization.

Requirements

A minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud architecture or a related field, with a strong focus on security and compliance.
Proven experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including hands-on experience with their services.
In-depth knowledge of cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and their application in enterprise environments.
Strong understanding of networking concepts, security protocols, and data management in cloud settings.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or FedRAMP.
Previous experience in a government or defense contracting environment.

Skills & tools

Proficiency in cloud architecture design and implementation.
Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go for automation and scripting tasks.
Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess complex systems and identify areas for improvement.
Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools to ensure cloud performance and security.
