Customer Support Representative
Job description
About the role
Customer Support Representative, MaxPreps
Position Overview
PlayOn seeks a Customer Support Representative to deliver next-level service to MaxPreps fans. The role focuses on resolving issues while minimizing customer effort and building lasting trust. You will elevate the average experience provided to our community by role modeling best-in-class service. Success requires tackling issues as puzzles, entering data with precision, and driving resolutions independently. You will work within a passionate, supportive team environment that encourages professional growth and collaboration.
Compensation and Work Details
This position is located in Alpharetta, Georgia. It is a full-time role offering an hourly compensation range of $17.00 to $18.00.
Key Responsibilities
Your daily duties will center on maintaining accurate and efficient support operations for MaxPreps users. You will answer incoming phone calls to guide customers through troubleshooting steps. Replying to customer service tickets via email will be a core task to ensure timely and structured resolutions. A primary focus will be entering high school sports rosters, schedules, and scores into our systems with a high degree of accuracy and speed. You will import data using our in-house software, verifying completeness and correctness with each batch. Utilizing MaxPreps live-scoring tools to cover football games on Fridays and Saturdays will be essential during the season. You will partner with teammates to close support gaps, share insights, and align on improved practices. The role also involves exploring personal development paths, testing new methods, and strengthening your professional growth within the team.
Required Qualifications
To thrive in this role, specific knowledge and skills are necessary. You must have a thorough understanding of the Windows 10 Operating System and be comfortable using all related tools. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are mandatory, along with the confidence to answer phone calls and respond to support emails. A strong understanding of fan culture and a passion for the sports and entertainment industry will directly inform your responses. You must be a high school graduate to apply; college students or graduates are preferred. Previous experience with Zendesk provides an advantage for managing support conversations. Comfort with the Microsoft Office Suite is preferred for handling documentation. Having prior Customer Support experience helps you adapt to expectations quickly.
Preferred Experience
Experience with live scoring during Friday night and Saturday games using MaxPreps tools is a significant asset. Familiarity with our live-scoring ecosystem allows for smoother transitions and more immediate contributions.
Core Values in Action
How you play the game defines our team culture. You will take ownership over participation by prioritizing key objectives and adapting quickly to changing situations, following through even against tough challenges. You will practice teamwork over stars by acting as a bridge builder with departments outside your own. Rallying around common goals, finding win-win solutions, and compromising when necessary will help others succeed. You will pursue growth over comfort by actively seeking opportunities to expand your skills and confidence. Embracing new challenges with curiosity turns discomfort and failure into learning moments. You will apply fairness over popularity by approaching decisions with a scientist's mindset. Challenging assumptions, remaining objective, considering long-term impact, and managing emotions will guide your decision-making.
Conclusion
PlayOn is where high school sports come to life. Through GoFan, NFHS Network, and MaxPreps, we give every fan a front-row seat to moments that matter most: the buzzer-beaters, the comeback wins, the senior nights, and the rivalries that define a town. We built our technology for the people who live and breathe high school athletics-the parents who never miss a game, the alumni cheering from across the country, and the communities that show up week after week. From buying tickets to watching a live stream to reliving the highlights, we make it simple to stay close to the action.
