The Sales Account Manager will own the end-to-end sales cycle for a demanding portfolio of clients spread across a demanding territory. You will act as the primary strategic partner for key accounts, aligning our sequencing capabilities with their evolving research goals. This role requires you to own and drive revenue growth while simultaneously expanding market penetration in a highly competitive landscape. You will leverage deep scientific knowledge to translate complex data into compelling commercial value. Success in this position means consistently meeting or exceeding ambitious sales quotas and booking profitable business. You will be responsible for identifying hidden opportunities and turning them into long-term partnerships. Ultimately, you will shape the future of our client relationships and directly influence the company's trajectory in the biotech sector.

What you'll do
Identify and qualify high-value prospects within the Mid-Atlantic territory using a consultative framework.
Develop and execute strategic account plans that map key decision-makers and growth initiatives for each major customer.
Leverage deep product knowledge of sequencing, synthetic biology, and molecular biology to solve complex client problems.
Collaborate with internal scientific teams to tailor demonstrations and address detailed technical inquiries from prospects.
Utilize CRM platforms like Hubspot or Salesforce to maintain precise opportunity pipelines and forecast future revenue.
Negotiate contract terms and pricing structures while articulating the total value of our services to stakeholders.
Establish strong rapport with academic, biotech, and government stakeholders to build a sustainable book of business.
Proactively uncover new use cases and applications that expand the scope of existing customer engagements.
Represent the Plasmidsaurus brand at industry conferences, seminars, and virtual events to increase market visibility.
Analyze competitive landscape data to refine sales pitches and highlight unique operational advantages.
Implement data-driven strategies to convert leads into closed deals with measurable return on investment.
Maintain exceptional communication standards through clear written correspondence and persuasive oral presentations.
Partner with cross-functional departments to ensure seamless order fulfillment and post-sale client satisfaction.
Consistently update activity reports to ensure transparency for internal stakeholders and leadership oversight.
Requirements
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Biology, Biotechnology, or Life Sciences as a hard prerequisite. You must have a minimum of 5+ years of direct experience selling within the sequencing industry to be considered for this role. A proven track record of exceeding sales targets and managing a complex book of business is mandatory. You must demonstrate strong familiarity with common sequencing techniques, synthetic biology workflows, and molecular biology laboratory methods. The ability to identify new business opportunities and convert them through a consultative approach is essential. You must have a history of devising and implementing successful strategies that result in tangible customer outcomes. Exceptional negotiation skills in both written and oral communication are required for this position. You must be proficient in using CRM tools to organize opportunities, tasks, and events efficiently. Strong interpersonal skills are required to build and maintain relationships with clients and internal teams. A valid driver's license is required due to the travel demands of the role. This position requires 50%+ travel within the Mid-Atlantic region. You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. You must reside in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or North Carolina to be eligible for this remote position.

Working Conditions/ Schedule
Requires the ability and willingness to travel within the assigned territory for customer meetings, internal business gatherings, seminars, and conferences. Additionally, occasional travel outside of the assigned territory may be expected.
