Staff Business Systems Analyst
Job description
About the role
The role delivers complex Salesforce solutions and cross-platform integrations for a modern insurance business. It balances deep platform work with direct partnership across sales, service, and finance teams. Success depends on fluent technical translation and consistent execution.
Analysts turn data into clear answers. They pull numbers, clean data, build dashboards, and explain what changed and why. The work supports decisions across sales, product, marketing, and operations. Strong analysts pair technical skill with business curiosity. Analysts are the bridge between data and decisions. Most analysts own recurring reports and are expected to improve them over time.
Key facts
What you'll do
Salesforce platform solutions are owned end to end, including configuration, development, and maintenance to address complex CRM challenges. Mature Sales Cloud foundations are sustained and enhanced to strengthen pipeline instrumentation for the business. Emerging Service Cloud capabilities are architected and scaled to support service operations needs. User support, data quality management, complex automation, and custom development are delivered as part of ongoing platform support. Data and process flows between Salesforce and integrated systems are understood, monitored, and kept reliable across Zuora, Workato, Sage Intacct, Marketing Cloud, and Snowflake EDW. Integration and data sync issues are diagnosed and resolved to maintain consistent information across platforms. Business needs are translated into clear technical solutions, and technical constraints are expressed as understandable terms for stakeholders. Direct collaboration with sales leadership, service operations, finance, and other cross-functional teams builds credibility and drives adoption. Requirements for enhancements and new capabilities are gathered, analyzed, and documented so internal or external developers can execute against them. Durable documentation is maintained so future teams can understand and extend the platform at scale. Knowledge and best practices are shared across the team, and guidance is provided to less experienced members as the group grows.
Requirements
The posting states a minimum of 5 years of experience.
A high school diploma or GED is required, with a bachelor's degree preferred for this position. Twelve or more years of experience in business systems analysis, Salesforce administration, or a related field is necessary for the role. Five or more years of hands-on Salesforce experience across multiple orgs is required, including work in Sales Cloud and ideally Service Cloud. Salesforce Certified Administrator and Platform Developer I certifications are required, with Advanced Administrator certification preferred. Experience with billing platforms, ERPs, marketing automation, data warehouses, or iPaaS tools supports the position.
Practical notes
This role is remote and open to United States residents, with E-Verify participation in the selection process.
Typical interview steps
Analyst interviews often include a SQL or spreadsheet exercise, a case question, and behavioral rounds. Candidates may be asked to analyze a dataset, define a metric, or estimate an outcome. Presenting findings clearly is tested as often as the analysis itself. Interviewers often test speed and clarity with a timed exercise. Explaining what the numbers mean, not just what they are, is the differentiator.
Good to know
Modern insurance operations rely heavily on integrated platforms and data consistency. Cloud platforms, integration tools, and automation shape how insurance products are delivered. Cross-functional communication and clear documentation are central to sustaining technology at scale.
Career growth
Analyst careers can grow into senior analyst, analytics manager, or data science roles. Some analysts move into product or business operations. Deeper technical skills or broader business ownership are the two main paths. Analyst roles are a common on-ramp into product, marketing, or operations leadership. Building deep domain knowledge alongside analytics is the fastest path.
