What you'll do

• Lead and supervise a team of millwrights, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards during all maintenance and repair activities.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules for machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
• Oversee the installation of new machinery, ensuring that all equipment is set up according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and machinery to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot mechanical problems and devise effective solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections to support compliance and operational reporting.
• Train and mentor millwright staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Manage inventory levels of tools, parts, and supplies necessary for maintenance operations, ensuring availability while controlling costs.
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services and equipment repairs.
• Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.
• Participate in safety audits and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement safety improvements.
• Prepare and manage budgets related to maintenance operations, ensuring efficient use of resources.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in millwright work, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems commonly found in industrial settings.
• Proven experience in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery and equipment.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in maintenance and repair operations.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Proficient in using maintenance management software and tools for tracking work orders and inventory.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to travel as needed for training or project support.
• Certification in millwright or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.

Nice to have

• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment, particularly in the food processing or packaging industries.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
• Previous experience with project management and budgeting in a maintenance context.
