The is responsible for architecting and executing the go-to-market strategy for the company's highest-priority verticals, specifically Finance, Healthcare, Legal, and Consulting. This role requires a deep dive into the specific buying motions, core use cases, and competitive dynamics that define each industry vertical. The successful candidate will translate this research into tangible outcomes by building campaigns, content, and sales enablement materials that systematically win deals in these sectors. This position sits at the critical intersection of marketing, sales strategy, and product thinking, requiring a holistic view of the customer journey. The manager will own vertical GTM not as isolated projects but as a cohesive, repeatable system that drives predictable revenue. They will be the voice of the vertical customer within the organization, ensuring product messaging aligns with real-world enterprise needs. This role demands a strategic thinker who can operate autonomously while collaborating closely with sales and product teams to move the business forward.

What you'll do
You will architect a comprehensive, data-driven GTM system for priority verticals, moving beyond one-off campaigns to sustained market penetration.
You will meticulously map enterprise buyer evaluation processes, documenting personas, decision processes, and competitive alternatives specific to Finance, Healthcare, Legal, and Consulting.
You will conceive and execute vertical awareness campaigns that span paid, organic, and owned channels, including the development of webinars, landing pages, and industry-specific creative assets.
You will synthesize complex product information into clear, compelling narratives, creating battle cards, objection handling guides, persona-specific talk tracks, and deal-stage content that empowers enterprise sales.
You will establish Perplexity as the definitive authority on AI adoption within each target vertical by developing and distributing insightful thought leadership that addresses sector-specific challenges.
You will instrument and measure the performance of all vertical initiatives, tracking pipeline sourced, conversion rates, and engagement metrics to iterate and optimize on a weekly basis.
You will partner with the product team to translate customer feedback and market insights into product positioning and feature messaging that resonates with enterprise buyers.
You will collaborate with demand generation to build and nurture targeted lists, aligning outreach sequences with the distinct buying stages and stakeholder roles identified in your vertical mapping.
You will leverage advanced AI tools to enhance marketing productivity, from drafting content to analyzing competitive landscapes and predicting buyer behavior.
You will work closely with sales leadership to ensure enablement materials are practical, driving measurable revenue outcomes and shortening the sales cycle for complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
You will own the end-to-end content lifecycle for verticals, from initial brief and research through creation, review, publication, and performance analysis.
You will identify and articulate clear ROI models and use cases that demonstrate tangible business value to C-suite decision-makers in Finance, Healthcare, Legal, and Consulting.
You will continuously monitor the competitive landscape, updating GTM playbooks and sales battle cards to reflect new threats and differentiators in real time.
You will champion a culture of experimentation within the vertical GTM strategy, testing new channels and messages while rigorously measuring impact on pipeline and revenue.
Requirements
You must possess 8 or more years of product marketing experience, with a preference for B2B background in complex enterprise environments.
You must have a proven track record of building and executing vertical or industry-specific GTM strategies that have driven measurable pipeline growth and revenue impact.
You must demonstrate deep understanding of enterprise buying motions, including comfort with long sales cycles, multi-stakeholder deals, and the ability to craft C-suite level messaging.
You must have exceptional storytelling and writing abilities, capable of distilling complex product capabilities into simple, compelling narratives for decks, one-pagers, videos, and ROI models.
You must be highly proficient in using AI tools to drive marketing outcomes, leveraging these technologies for content creation, analysis, and strategic planning.
You must be a collaborative, low-ego operator who thrives in fast-paced, small-team environments and is comfortable owning the full stack of marketing work from strategy to execution.
You must be able to work effectively in a mission-critical role where your decisions directly influence the adoption of AI solutions in high-stakes industries.
You must have a strong bias for action, balancing strategic thinking with the ability to execute tactical projects quickly and accurately.
You must be comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality in all deliverables.
You must have a history of working with cross-functional teams, including sales, product, and engineering, to align on goals and messaging.
Nice to have
Preferred experience in the Finance, Healthcare, Legal, or Consulting sectors, with an understanding of the specific regulatory and procurement nuances in these industries.
Experience with advanced data analysis and marketing instrumentation to measure campaign performance and attribute revenue influence.

Practical notes
This is a full-time position based in San Francisco.
The role requires significant travel to meet with enterprise clients and attend industry events.
