What you'll do

• Monitor security alerts and incidents across various systems to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Conduct thorough investigations of security breaches and provide detailed reports on findings and recommendations for remediation.
• Collaborate with IT teams to develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices that align with industry standards.
• Perform regular security assessments and audits to evaluate the effectiveness of existing security measures and identify areas for improvement.
• Assist in the development and delivery of security awareness training programs for employees to promote a culture of security within the organization.
• Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to ensure Pencor's security posture remains robust and proactive.
• Work closely with external vendors and partners to ensure compliance with security requirements and best practices.
• Participate in incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and recovery efforts following security incidents.
• Prepare and present security metrics and reports to management, highlighting key findings and areas of concern.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and manage risks associated with new projects and initiatives.
• Assist in the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure organizational resilience in the face of security incidents.
• Engage in continuous learning and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in the field of cybersecurity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a security analyst role or similar position.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks and standards, such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
• Proficiency in security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection solutions.
• Experience with security incident response and investigation methodologies.
• Familiarity with network protocols, operating systems, and cloud security principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) are preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) solutions.
• Knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements, including GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS.
• Previous experience in a cloud security role, particularly with platforms like AWS or Azure.
• Understanding of threat intelligence and vulnerability management processes.
