About the role
Become a key member of the Workouts Design Team at Peloton, where your mission will be to craft innovative software experiences that empower individuals to lead healthier lifestyles. This position emphasizes the design of new workout interactions and the development of software for upcoming hardware, as well as creating intuitive exercise solutions that can be utilized anywhere. You will be responsible for developing intricate interfaces and quickly iterating on both user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) designs.

What you'll do
- Collaborate closely with design, product management, and engineering teams to ensure a seamless experience across all member platforms, including hardware devices, web applications, mobile apps, and television interfaces.
- Partner with design leaders in both software and hardware domains to investigate new research and development opportunities that will shape future user experiences.
- Take the lead on complex design projects that encompass multiple significant product areas, ensuring a cohesive vision throughout.
- Transform product ideas into concrete designs through effective prototyping and compelling visual storytelling techniques.
- Contribute to the establishment of best practices for accessibility standards across cross-functional teams.
- Navigate effortlessly between high-level strategic planning and meticulous pixel-level design work.
- Articulate design concepts clearly and garner support from various teams and stakeholders.
- Engage in user testing and research to validate design decisions and enhance user satisfaction.
- Stay updated on industry trends and integrate relevant insights into design processes.
- Mentor junior designers and provide constructive feedback to foster their growth and development.
- Participate in design critiques and contribute to the continuous improvement of design methodologies within the team.
- Collaborate with marketing and customer support teams to ensure design alignment with brand messaging and user needs.
Requirements
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in software product design, showcasing a strong portfolio of relevant work.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with product managers and engineers to outline the vision, strategy, and rationale behind features.
- Strong expertise in interface and interaction design, with a focus on creating user-friendly experiences.
- Proficient in user experience methodologies, testing techniques, research practices, and information architecture principles.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to conceptualize complex interaction systems that account for various user scenarios and edge cases.
- Comfortable working with ambiguous requirements and adaptable to changes in project direction as needed.
- Extensive experience in using prototyping tools to explore and communicate design solutions effectively.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, enabling effective collaboration across teams.
- An understanding of broader business objectives, ensuring that design solutions are both intuitive and user-centered.
- Familiarity with design systems, interaction patterns, and the limitations associated with cross-platform applications, particularly for Android, iOS, and web environments.

Practical notes
The salary range for this position in New York City is between $155,350 and $190,850 USD.
