About the role
Peloton is seeking a strategic product leader to manage the lifecycle and roadmap of our existing hardware portfolio. You will bridge the gap between engineering, design, and content teams to deliver high-quality connected fitness experiences. In this capacity, you will own the end-to-end strategic vision for our connected fitness hardware, ensuring alignment with user needs and business objectives. The role requires synthesizing complex technical constraints into clear product requirements that guide cross-functional teams. You will be responsible for translating market dynamics and user behaviors into a sustainable product roadmap that drives long-term value. Success in this position means balancing innovation with the realities of manufacturing and operational feasibility. You will act as the central hub for decision-making, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and aligned throughout the product journey.

What you'll do
- Establish the long-term vision and product roadmap for current hardware offerings, defining the future state of our connected fitness devices.
- Lead the full product lifecycle from initial concept through launch and post-launch analysis, ensuring continuous optimization based on real-world data.
- Collaborate with industrial design, hardware and software engineering, operations, content, and marketing departments to resolve feature tradeoffs and prioritize scope.
- Utilize knowledge of system architecture to ensure product quality and user experience, bridging the gap between technical implementation and customer value.
- Perform competitive analysis, market research, and user studies to validate product direction and uncover new opportunities for differentiation.
- Track performance metrics to evaluate success and identify future improvements, using insights to iterate on existing products and inform new ones.
- Own the documentation of product requirements and specifications, creating clear artifacts that guide engineering and design execution.
- Partner with supply chain and operations to forecast demand, manage costs, and ensure timely delivery of hardware products to market.
- Advocate for the user throughout the development process, ensuring that usability, accessibility, and performance remain central to decision-making.
- Influence stakeholders across the organization through data-driven narratives and compelling product stories that align with Peloton's brand and business goals.
- Define success metrics for launched products and conduct post-mortem analyses to extract learnings and apply them to future initiatives.
- Work closely with the content and marketing teams to ensure that the product narrative is accurately reflected in user onboarding and engagement strategies.
- Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and trends in hardware and fitness to identify potential threats and opportunities for innovation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for hardware strategy, providing guidance to junior product managers and cross-functional partners.
Requirements
- 4-6 years of experience as a hardware product manager, specifically in fitness equipment or consumer hardware.
- Deep technical knowledge of end-to-end system architecture to communicate effectively with electrical, mechanical, and software engineering teams.
- Proven track record of managing cross-functional projects from concept to market, demonstrating ownership and execution.
- Strong understanding of the manufacturing process, supply chain, and quality assurance to navigate operational complexities.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills to influence stakeholders across the organization without direct authority.
- Experience managing products in a regulated or safety-conscious environment is highly valued.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize under uncertainty, making decisions with incomplete information while managing risk.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, agile environment where requirements evolve based on user feedback and market shifts.
