About the role
Peloton is on the lookout for a Senior Network Engineer to take charge of the network infrastructure that supports our corporate offices, warehouses, and the New York Broadcast Studio. This role will act as a vital link between our cloud engineering and studio operations teams, ensuring the seamless delivery of high-quality live media content. You will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity and performance of our network systems, enabling us to deliver exceptional experiences to our users.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Architect and secure network solutions across both on-premises and AWS environments, utilizing technologies from Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, and Palo Alto Networks.
- Conduct thorough traffic analysis and troubleshooting for the New York studio to ensure uninterrupted live video streaming and over-the-top (OTT) content delivery.
- Manage the complete project lifecycle, which includes traffic shaping, optimizing SD-WAN performance, developing security policies, and implementing Tier-3 disaster recovery strategies.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify network requirements and implement solutions that enhance overall performance and reliability.
- Monitor network performance metrics and implement improvements to ensure optimal operation and minimal downtime.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference and training.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to continually improve network efficiency and security.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior network engineers, fostering a culture of learning and development within the team.
Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in Network Engineering, with at least 6 years dedicated to SaaS environments and 4 years focused on AWS public cloud networking.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in optimizing IP networks for live video applications, utilizing protocols such as multicast, unicast, HLS, RTMP, and SRT.
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science is required.
- Possession of an active CCIE or JNCIE certification is essential.
- In-depth knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols (including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP) as well as security protocols (such as IPsec, 802.1x, and RADIUS) is necessary.
- Familiarity with SD-WAN and Software-Defined Networking (SDN) or Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) solutions is crucial.
Nice to have
- Experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices for automating network configurations would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of advanced network monitoring and management tools.
- Familiarity with cloud-based security solutions and best practices.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, and Palo Alto Networks technologies.
- Expertise in AWS networking and services.
- Strong understanding of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IPsec, 802.1x, RADIUS, SD-WAN, SDN, SDDC, HLS, RTMP, SRT, and Terraform.
