The Senior Database Engineer will partner with product and development teams to shape database strategy and execution. You will own the design and delivery of resilient database processes that align with business objectives and quality standards. This role requires collaboration across the organization to prioritize initiatives and drive implementation from conception to production. The position focuses on ensuring that database systems deliver world class availability, scalability, and security for our intelligence platform.

- Augment Tier2 development teams with specialized database support for bug fixes, data manipulation, and feature validation.
- Optimize SQL code paths and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks across application integrations.
- Assume on-call responsibilities to address critical database alerts and coordinate escalations as required.
Requirements
- Bring a minimum of 7+ years of hands-on experience administering PostgreSQL databases in production environments.
- Demonstrate advanced administration and optimization skills specific to MariaDB platforms and workflows.
- Apply extensive knowledge of Pgpool-II to manage query load balancing, failover strategies, and connection routing between nodes.
- Execute hands-on experience with PostgreSQL replication setups, performance tuning activities, and ongoing maintenance operations.
- Create and sustain operational runbooks that standardize PostgreSQL replication, failover recovery, and pooler troubleshooting practices.
- Script database deployment and maintenance procedures using shell scripts and infrastructure automation tools to ensure consistency.
- Leverage deep performance tuning expertise alongside a broad understanding of indexing strategies, In-Memory OLTP technologies, and SQL best practices.
- Construct processes that support both OLTP and OLAP workloads across hybrid data environments.
- Enable and nurture data engineering practices that sustain a multi-source data ecosystem and integration patterns.
- Collaborate effectively with SQL developers to analyze problems and design pragmatic database solutions.
- Function within microservice architectures where each microservice may utilize distinct data sources and connection models.
- Utilize industry standard source control solutions such as Git, with demonstrated experience in DACPAC workflows where applicable.
- Exhibit an intrinsic self-starter mindset and advanced problem-solving capabilities under minimal supervision.
- Apply Agile methodologies and practices to plan, execute, and deliver database initiatives in iterative cycles.

- Administer and tune Elasticsearch clusters for search and analytics workloads.
- Leverage data visualization and analytic tools such as Tableau to translate database metrics into actionable insights.
