What you'll do
Lead the global collections strategy across all emerging markets where PayJoy operates and serves customers
Manage and develop collections teams in multiple regions, coordinating across different time zones and cultures
Oversee the design and implementation of collection policies and procedures that align with the company's mission
Collaborate with the data science team to optimize collection outcomes using machine learning models and predictive analytics
Work with the anti-fraud AI systems to identify and mitigate risk throughout the collections process
Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards in every market where PayJoy has a presence
Partner with the point-of-sale financing team to align collection strategies with customer acquisition and retention goals
Monitor key performance indicators and report on collections metrics to senior leadership on a regular basis
Drive innovation in collection methodologies to improve customer outcomes and recovery rates across all regions
Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders in emerging markets around the world
Champion PayJoy's public benefit mission within all collections operations and customer-facing interactions
Lead cross-functional initiatives to integrate collections data with broader business intelligence and reporting efforts
Requirements
Extensive experience leading collections operations in a global or multi-market environment with distributed teams
Deep understanding of credit and lending products designed for under-served customers in emerging markets
Proven track record of managing large teams across multiple regions, time zones, and cultural contexts
Strong knowledge of machine learning applications in financial services, particularly in credit risk and collections
Experience with point-of-sale financing or similar consumer credit products in a fast-growing company
Familiarity with anti-fraud systems and data science methodologies as applied to credit risk management
Demonstrated success in building and scaling collections processes from early stages to mature operations
Genuine commitment to mission-driven work serving under-served and underserved communities in developing markets
Nice to have
Experience working at a Public Benefit Corporation or mission-driven financial institution with a social impact focus
Knowledge of secured credit products and patent-protected technologies used in consumer lending
Background in serving large customer bases of over 18 million or managing operations at significant scale
Familiarity with emerging market regulatory environments across multiple continents and legal jurisdictions
