About the role
You are a mission-first professional who owns the end-to-end administration of a diverse and growing global benefits portfolio across 11 countries. In this role, you act as the definitive subject-matter expert, driving accurate and timely delivery of health, welfare, retirement, and supplemental programs while ensuring statutory compliance is never compromised. You will partner closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, and Legal to resolve complex, cross-border issues and elevate the employee experience for a distributed workforce. Your work directly supports financial stability for underserved customers by ensuring our internal systems and benefits strategy are robust, scalable, and reliable. You take ownership of process improvement, automation, and harmonization initiatives that standardize practices without losing local relevance. You will lead open enrollment and renewal cycles, manage critical vendor relationships, and provide clear, culturally appropriate guidance to employees around the world. You handle sensitive information with discretion and serve as the primary escalation resource for benefits-related questions across regions and time zones.

What you'll do
Coordinate the administration of health, welfare, retirement, income protection, wellness, and supplemental benefit programs across 11 countries, ensuring timely execution and accuracy.
Monitor statutory and regulatory changes related to benefits in each country; ensure filings, reporting, and compliance obligations are met consistently and correctly.
Serve as the subject-matter expert on benefits requirements, interpreting local rules and aligning them with global policies and employee needs.
Lead annual open enrollment and renewal cycles, managing timelines, plan changes, system configuration, and multilingual employee communications.
Build and maintain strong relationships with global and local brokers, insurers, third-party administrators, and pension providers while overseeing vendor performance and service levels.
Manage the end-to-end benefits data lifecycle in the HRIS and benefits platforms, conducting audits to ensure data integrity and payroll accuracy.
Reconcile vendor invoices, validate payments, and resolve discrepancies to maintain financial accuracy and control.
Analyze benefits costs, utilization patterns, and market trends to support annual budgeting and provide actionable insights and recommendations to leadership.
Act as the central escalation point for complex employee benefits questions, delivering clear, timely, and culturally appropriate responses to a global audience.
Design and implement benefits programs for new-country entries, expansions, and M&A integration, ensuring smooth onboarding and compliance.
Drive process improvement, harmonization, and automation initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance the employee experience.
Provide mentorship and guidance to less-experienced team members, helping them navigate complex benefits topics and grow their expertise.
Maintain a high level of analytical rigor, solving problems systematically and ensuring that decisions are well-documented and evidence-based.
Handle confidential and sensitive employee and vendor information with the utmost professionalism at all times.
Requirements
Hold a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Bring a minimum of +6 years of proven experience in benefits administration, with significant international or multi-country responsibility.
Demonstrate in-depth understanding of statutory and supplemental benefits across multiple regions, including North America, EMEA, and/or APAC, with a LatAm focus being a plus.
Show proven experience managing brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators across borders while maintaining strong service and compliance.
Have hands-on experience with an HRIS/benefits system such as Rippling or Workday, and with benefits administration platforms.
Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with impeccable attention to detail in all deliverables.
Exhibit the ability to manage complex projects, prioritize competing tasks, and meet deadlines across multiple time zones.
Demonstrate the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
Be fluent in English language proficiency; additional languages relevant to the covered regions are a plus.
Nice to have
Preferred candidates will have experience with benefits administration in emerging markets and LatAm regions.
Experience with point-of-sale financing or credit products is a plus given the mission-first nature of the business.
Knowledge of anti-fraud practices and data science applications in benefits or credit environments is a preferred asset.
Experience supporting Public Benefit Corporation governance and mission-driven objectives is valued.
Familiarity with mHealth, wellness, or supplemental insurance products can enhance your effectiveness in this role.
Practical notes
This is a full-time position based in San Francisco, CA.
Travel may be required to support regional partners and ensure consistent implementation of benefits programs.
