What you'll do

• Design and implement robust backend services that can efficiently process and manage large datasets, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend developers, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
• Optimize existing backend systems for performance and scalability, identifying bottlenecks and implementing effective solutions.
• Lead architectural discussions and decisions, contributing to the overall technical strategy of the company.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and high-quality standards in software development.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for backend systems, APIs, and services to facilitate knowledge transfer and onboarding.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact on our systems and processes.
• Implement automated testing and continuous integration practices to enhance the reliability and maintainability of our backend services.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to streamline deployment processes and improve system reliability through effective monitoring and alerting strategies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring minimal downtime and a seamless experience for our users.
• Contribute to the development of internal tools and frameworks that enhance the productivity of the engineering team.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development, with a strong focus on building scalable and high-performance systems.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go, with a solid understanding of their ecosystems.
• Extensive experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including but not limited to PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture, with hands-on experience in designing and implementing them.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and experience in deploying applications in a cloud environment.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• A passion for technology and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement in software engineering practices.

• Experience with serverless architectures and event-driven systems.
• Familiarity with GraphQL and its implementation in backend systems.
