You must set roadmaps and own prioritization, support sprint planning, issue triage, and backlog management to maintain momentum and clarity for the product initiative.
You must drive launches and ongoing operations of products while working closely with Design, Engineering, and Operations for coordinated execution and reliable delivery. You must run rapid experiments, develop hypotheses, and talk to customers often to refine ideas and validate use cases with observable evidence. You must make data-driven decisions to uncover patterns and answer product questions using analysis and observation of behavior. You must synthesize feedback from customers and internal functions to deliver high quality products that serve both operational and marketplace needs.
Practical notes
The role works closely with the Co-founder/CTO and the Founding PM in a San Francisco based environment. This position operates within a fast growing marketplace modernizing hiring using AI, specialized recruiters, and operational tooling. Typical interview steps
People team interviews usually include a case scenario, a policy question, and behavioral rounds. Candidates may be asked to design an interview process or handle a sensitive employee situation. Confidentiality and judgment are tested throughout. Structured answers with empathy land best. Interviewers often test how you handle sensitive information and disagreement. Framing answers around policy, fairness, and company values works well.
Good to know
Product managers operate at the intersection of user needs, business goals, and technical constraints. Data analysis, user research, and cross-functional collaboration are central to modern product practice in technology. Tooling for experimentation, analytics, and workflow coordination supports informed decision-making in fast-growing environments.
Questions to ask
Good questions to ask the employer in the interview: what does success look like in the first six months, how is the team structured, what is the current biggest challenge, and how are decisions made. Asking about growth paths and the review process is also well received. Employers expect questions, and good ones show preparation.
Career growth
People careers grow from coordinator to generalist, manager, and director levels. Recruiters can move into talent leadership. HR partners can move into people operations leadership. Business acumen becomes more important at each level. People careers reward breadth across recruitment, development, and operations.
