About the role
Otcflow is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Lawyer specializing in Energy Law to join our dynamic team in Courbevoie, Île-de-France. This position is pivotal in navigating the complex legal landscape of the energy sector, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing strategic legal guidance to our operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in energy law, coupled with excellent analytical and communication skills, to effectively support our business objectives and drive legal initiatives.

What you'll do
- Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of issues related to energy law, including regulatory compliance, contract negotiation, and dispute resolution.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and memoranda, ensuring they align with industry standards and best practices.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support the company's strategic initiatives and decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and compliance, to identify legal risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and interpret changes in energy legislation and regulations, advising the company on necessary adjustments to policies and practices.
- Represent the company in negotiations with external parties, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, and industry stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver training sessions to internal teams on relevant legal topics, fostering a culture of compliance and awareness within the organization.
- Assist in the management of litigation and dispute resolution processes, working closely with external counsel when necessary.
- Support the development of internal policies and procedures related to energy law, ensuring alignment with legal requirements and best practices.
- Participate in industry forums and conferences to stay abreast of emerging trends and legal developments in the energy sector.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the legal function within the organization, identifying opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to enhance the company's reputation and influence in the energy sector.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on energy law and regulatory compliance.
- Strong understanding of the legal and regulatory framework governing the energy sector, including renewable energy, electricity, and gas markets.
- Proven track record in contract negotiation and drafting, with a keen eye for detail and risk assessment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and provide practical legal solutions.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred, with proficiency in French being a plus.
