About the role
You will spearhead the conception and advancement of insurance lifestyle product concepts within the Insurance Product Innovation and Development team at Oscar. This role involves owning the end-to-end innovation pipeline for lifestyle-based, multicultural, and condition-specific product offerings. You will act as a strategic translator, converting high-level corporate strategy into concrete, testable product concepts and early-stage designs. A core part of this position is identifying market opportunities and member needs to address health disparities and differentiate Oscar in the market. You will coordinate cross-functional efforts, aligning diverse teams to move promising ideas from brainstorming sessions toward viable pilot programs. This position requires a hands-on approach where you translate abstract concepts into actionable plans that can be validated and scaled. You will report directly into the Vice President, Insurance Product Innovation and Development, ensuring alignment with overarching product goals. Ultimately, you will be responsible for shaping the future of Oscar's insurance solutions by driving innovation from initial spark to scalable opportunity.

What you'll do
- Promote the development of new insurance product concepts and health solutions, focusing on lifestyle-based, multicultural, and condition-specific health plans.
- Translate high-level corporate strategy into early-stage product designs, compelling value propositions, and concrete use cases for pilot testing.
- Analyze market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and member data to uncover innovation priorities and opportunity areas.
- Support the creation of opportunity sizing models and business case inputs to evaluate the viability of new product concepts.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including product design, clinical, network, actuarial, corporate strategy, and growth, to align on objectives and timelines.
- Coordinate inputs and schedules to efficiently move concepts from ideation through pilot execution and potential launch.
- Contribute to the development of culturally-aligned and population-specific insurance offerings that resonate with diverse member communities.
- Design and support condition-focused solutions, such as chronic condition or disease-specific concepts, to address specific health needs.
- Track pilot performance metrics, gather qualitative and quantitative insights, and synthesize findings into actionable recommendations.
- Recommend whether to refine, pivot, or discontinue product concepts based on pilot results and strategic fit.
- Lead the development of requirements and implementation plans in collaboration with technical and operational partners.
- Ensure all product concepts and pilot activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policy standards.
- Analyze member engagement patterns to inform product features that improve interaction and satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the evolving needs of the Innovation and Development team.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
- Possess a minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in healthcare, health insurance, product management within ACA or Small Group markets, or corporate strategy.
- Demonstrate prior experience in supporting product development processes, consumer journey mapping, and the creation of improvement plans.
- Show a proven track record of involvement in pilot program design, execution, and analysis.
- Exhibit a willingness to travel up to 25% of the time for work-related responsibilities.
- Maintain eligibility to work in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, or Virginia. Note that this list of states is subject to change.
