What you'll do
- Collaborate with senior engineers to design, implement, and maintain IT solutions that align with Oscar Health's business objectives.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues across various platforms, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Participate in the deployment and configuration of new systems and applications, ensuring they meet the organization's standards for performance and security.
- Monitor system performance and conduct regular maintenance to optimize efficiency and reliability.
- Document processes, configurations, and changes to ensure accurate records are maintained for future reference.
- Support end-users by providing technical assistance and guidance, addressing their inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Work with the security team to implement and maintain security protocols, protecting sensitive data and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- Engage in continuous learning and development opportunities to stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in IT.
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of new technologies and tools that can enhance operational capabilities.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and execution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide tailored solutions that enhance their workflows.
- Help maintain an inventory of IT assets and assist in the procurement of new hardware and software as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in IT support or a related role, preferably within a healthcare or technology-focused environment.
- Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux, along with basic networking concepts.
- Experience with cloud services and virtualization technologies is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users.
- A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies.
Nice to have
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks.
- Knowledge of database management systems and basic SQL skills.
- Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting or understanding of healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA) is advantageous.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in using ticketing systems for tracking and managing support requests.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools to assess system performance and identify potential issues.
- Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Slack, Jira, or Confluence to facilitate teamwork and project management.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices to safeguard organizational data.
