Expression of Interest
Job description
About The Role
You will own the complete path from first signal to deployed emotion models. This position shapes how raw neural data transforms into a living understanding of human experience. You will collaborate closely with neuroscientists and engineers to define what the platform measures and how it is protected. You will translate ambiguous human states into structured signals that drive model behavior and product decisions. This role demands rapid learning across hardware, software, and science to solve problems that have not been solved before. You will be responsible for ensuring that every model output remains grounded in measurable neural evidence. You will contribute to building the foundational infrastructure that turns a research-grade BCI into a scalable platform.

What you'll do
Design intake pipelines that capture clean neural streams while preserving the context of participant experience.
Architect model builds that translate sensor readings into reliable, interpretable measures of emotion.
Coordinate review checkpoints where findings are questioned and validated before they guide product choices.
Ship analysis releases that convert complex insights into clear narratives for both internal stakeholders and external partners.
Establish partner integrations that align data practices with platform expectations and delivery timelines.
Champion calibration routines that ensure measurements remain comparable across sessions and hardware configurations.
Guide documentation that explains methods so future teams can trust, understand, and extend the work.
Own operational rhythms that connect experiments, observations, and evolving specifications into a coherent workflow.
Lead validation efforts that confirm models reflect human states with scientific rigor and real-world relevance.
Defend standards that keep data handling transparent, responsible, and aligned with the mission of protecting user experience.
Implement monitoring strategies that detect drift in sensor performance or model behavior over long periods of use.
Translate product requirements into technical constraints that balance usability, ethics, and measurement accuracy.
Support the creation of internal tools that allow non-technical team members to explore data and validate hypotheses.
Act as a bridge between deep technical work and high-stakes decisions affecting product direction and user wellbeing.
Requirements
You must bring three years of experience working with signal processing and model development in a professional setting.
You need proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and modern data workflows within research or production environments.
You should understand core principles from cognitive science and their application to measurement and interpretation.
You must know how to manage complex data structures and maintain clarity during fast-paced, iterative development cycles.
You need experience coordinating across disciplines while preserving rigorous methodological habits and attention to detail.
You must be comfortable working with hardware sensors, firmware interactions, and data collection pipelines in a research context.
You should have a strong grasp of data privacy, security, and compliance considerations when handling sensitive neural data.
You need the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences clearly and precisely.
