General Interest Submission at Metr

Application Process

Applicants are asked to attach their most recent curriculum vitae and describe how they might contribute to Metr's team. Expressions of interest will be retained in the system for the long term and reviewed as new needs arise. Metr does not commit to respond to every submission, and responses may occur only when a potential match with team work or projects is identified. It may be necessary to wait far into the future, for example one year, until new requirements emerge. If you are seeking active employment now, you should apply to any open position that matches your background.

Should Metr consider advancing your application, the process typically involves one to three work tests, in addition to one or two interviews. For some roles, the initial work test may require less than 45 minutes. Other work tests may extend up to three hours. When a work test is expected to last more than one hour, Metr will provide compensation at a competitive hourly rate for your time.

Following the first one or two work tests, there will be an interview to discuss the conceptual basis of the project, your goals in a role, and any questions from both sides. This conversation will also include time for you to ask questions. After this step, a trial period lasting one to four weeks may be offered. Metr is open to discussing and structuring the trial period in a way that works for each candidate.

What You Will Do

You will guide scheduled review checkpoints where proposals are evaluated against core assumptions, identified risks, and anticipated impact before decisions on continuation are made.

You will orchestrate routines that move validated work toward documentation, communication, and integration with external systems. This includes preparing materials for stakeholders and ensuring that outputs are usable and actionable.

You will establish touchpoints with partners so that collaborators understand timelines, deliverables, and how their contributions influence outcomes. This involves clear communication and expectation management.

You will conduct experiments that test small scale interventions and document results to inform whether larger investments are justified. These experiments are designed to generate evidence for decision making.

You will synthesize findings from trials into clear narratives that help stakeholders determine which directions to fund and scale. This requires translating technical details into accessible formats.

You will support the maintenance of living artifacts that track project health, dependencies, and shifts in strategic context over time. These artifacts provide a shared understanding of progress and change.

Requirements
