Oportun is actively seeking a full-time Bilingual English and Spanish Member Loyalty Representative to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. In this role, you will serve as a critical bridge between our financial services and the communities we support. You will own the responsibility of being the primary point of contact for members, ensuring their experience is smooth, respectful, and empowering. What you'll do
- Greet members with a warm smile and provide efficient transaction processing while rigorously protecting member data security at all times.
- Dedicate over 50 percent of your time to conducting outreach at community events, flea markets, and partner locations to build local awareness.
- Establish strong relationships with local business owners to clearly explain Oportun services and the benefits of membership.
- Leverage iPads and QR codes to guide potential members through the initial stages of the application process with patience and accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment by performing mopping, sweeping, and trash collection duties as part of daily responsibilities.
- Complete focused administrative tasks on a computer for 3 to 6 hours daily, ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting.
- Travel regularly between local work sites and outreach locations as required to meet team objectives and member needs.
- Function effectively both independently and within a team setting to consistently meet lending and service goals.
- Utilize strong communication skills to de-escalate concerns and provide exceptional customer service in high-volume situations.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock organization to support smooth store operations during peak hours.
- Document member interactions with precision to ensure follow-up opportunities and accurate service history tracking.
- Support promotional campaigns by distributing educational materials and explaining financing options to diverse audiences.
Requirements
- Must be fluent in both English and Spanish to effectively communicate with members and colleagues in all interactions.
- Must possess previous experience in sales, hospitality, cashiering, or customer service roles within a fast-paced environment.
- Must be capable of working a rotating schedule that includes weekends, with shifts assigned every two weeks based on operational needs.
- Must demonstrate a willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions during outreach activities and community engagement.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 25 pounds during routine job duties.
- Must maintain reliable and predictable attendance to ensure consistent coverage of shifts and member needs.
- Must comply with all company policies, procedures, and security protocols regarding member information and financial data.
- Must meet all eligibility requirements as defined by Oportun's employment standards and regulatory guidelines.
Skills & tools
- Demonstrate basic computer proficiency to navigate software systems and complete digital documentation accurately.
- Bring experience with office equipment including scanners, phones, and iPads to perform daily tasks efficiently.
- Show an ability to organize and maintain paper files in a structured and secure manner for easy retrieval.
