About the role
This role is owned by an individual who acts as the primary architect and operator of a high-signal global community for ChatGPT Pro users. They are responsible for designing the end-to-end experience of how elite builders and experts engage with OpenAI's most advanced models on a daily basis. The hire will own the strategic vision for community programming while ensuring that every interaction reinforces trust, technical rigor, and mutual learning. They will translate the raw insights from the field into structured educational and product feedback systems that benefit both users and internal teams. This position is the connective tissue between the community of practice and the execution of product development at scale. They will define what success looks like for a community of advanced users and then build the systems to achieve it repeatedly. Ultimately, this role ensures that the voices of the most sophisticated AI practitioners are heard clearly inside the company.

What you'll do
Design and execute a high-touch community program for the ChatGPT Pro cohort, orchestrating product demos, deep-dive office hours, and curated show-and-tell sessions that drive genuine peer learning.
Identify, recruit, and onboard high-impact users working at the frontier of ChatGPT and Codex deployment, ensuring the community remains a reservoir of exceptional talent and real-world insight.
Conduct in-depth, ongoing interviews with community members to map their workflows, decision-making processes, and emerging use cases that reveal unmet needs.
Act as the primary trusted liaison between elite users and OpenAI, translating complex technical questions and edge cases into clear feedback for engineering and research.
Build repeatable onboarding, engagement, and retention systems, including communication frameworks and member journey maps that scale without sacrificing quality.
Run technical office hours and workflow reviews that help advanced users operationalize new capabilities across ChatGPT, Codex, and emerging agentic tools.
Partner with DevEx, Product, and Research teams to route bugs, workflow friction, and feature requests to the correct internal stakeholders with rich context.
Curate and evaluate anonymized user interactions and outputs to inform editorial content, internal learning, and product improvement while rigorously protecting privacy.
Distill complex patterns of AI usage into reusable educational assets, playbooks, and case studies that help both internal teams and external users understand best practices.
Uphold strict standards of technical accuracy, domain integrity, informed consent, and privacy across sensitive fields such as science, law, finance, and education.
Surface and document how ChatGPT and Codex are actually being used in the wild, creating clear narratives that connect individual experiments to broader trends.
Produce compelling user profiles and longitudinal case studies that humanize advanced AI usage and demonstrate real impact for researchers and builders.
Collaborate with editorial partners to contribute to Substack, social channels, newsletters, and internal storytelling that amplifies community achievements.
Support the design and execution of small-batch product testing cohorts, capturing detailed qualitative and quantitative feedback on new models and features.
Identify and articulate emergent trends in prompting, tool use, and workflow integration, providing actionable recommendations to product and research leadership.
Bridge the gap between non-technical builders and highly technical users, ensuring that insights from Codex and agentic experiments are accessible and actionable.
Requirements
Candidates must possess a deep, operational understanding of technical workflows and be able to ask incisive questions that uncover the underlying mechanics of how users interact with AI systems. They should be fluent in the latest AI tools and comfortable navigating complex interfaces without requiring constant hand-holding. This is not a customer success role in a general sense; it demands comfort with advanced concepts in machine learning and software development practices. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a history of building or contributing to technical communities where trust and credibility are established through expertise. They must be able to maintain composure and accuracy when discussing sensitive or high-stakes domains such as finance, law, and scientific research. A strong commitment to user consent, data ethics, and privacy is non-negotiable in this position. The role requires the ability to synthesize fragmented information into coherent narratives that guide product decisions and educational content. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential for translating between highly technical jargon and accessible explanations for diverse audiences.
