Solutions Engineer/Solutions Consultant

The Solutions Engineer/Solutions Consultant serves as a technical bridge between the product and customers throughout the sales lifecycle. This role supports the sales process by demonstrating how the platform addresses specific customer needs and compliance requirements. The position is based in Madrid, Spain and involves close collaboration with both technical and commercial teams across the region.

This role reports to the Solutions Engineering leadership team within the Madrid office.

What you'll do

1. Support pre-sales activities by conducting product demonstrations for prospective clients and stakeholders.

2. Work with sales teams to understand customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

3. Configure the OneTrust platform to align with specific customer workflows and compliance needs.

4. Deliver technical presentations that explain product features, integrations, and data handling capabilities.

5. Collaborate with product teams to gather customer feedback and relay feature requests.

6. Assist customers during implementation phases to ensure proper setup and configuration of tools.

1. Create and maintain documentation that outlines solution designs, architecture decisions, and deployment steps.

8. Participate in customer meetings to provide expert guidance on platform capabilities and limitations.

9. Coordinate with engineering teams to resolve technical issues that arise during customer engagements.

10. Develop proof-of-concept environments to validate proposed solutions before full-scale deployment begins.

11. Stay current with product updates and release notes to advise customers accurately.

12. Build strong relationships with customer technical teams to foster long-term trust and adoption.

13. Provide ongoing technical support and guidance to customers after initial deployment and onboarding.

14. Evaluate customer environments to identify opportunities for platform optimization and expanded usage.

15. Contribute to the development of solution proposals and statements of work for customer projects.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related technical discipline required.

2. Experience working in a customer-facing or consulting role within a software or technology company.

3. Solid understanding of privacy regulations, data protection frameworks, and industry compliance standards.

4. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to non-technical audiences.

5. Familiarity with SaaS platforms, cloud environments, and enterprise-level integration architectures and protocols.

6. Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical, detail-oriented approach to troubleshooting technical challenges.

7. Proficiency in English, with Spanish language skills considered a valuable and practical asset.

8. Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites or company offices as business needs require.

9. Experience with project management methodologies and the ability to manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously.

10. Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to adapt quickly to evolving customer priorities and deadlines.

Nice to have

1. Prior experience with governance, risk, and compliance software platforms or related tools.

2. Knowledge of data mapping, privacy impact assessments, and cookie consent management processes.

3. Experience presenting to executive-level stakeholders and influencing key procurement decision-makers within organizations.

4. Background in security certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, or similar professional credentials.

5. Familiarity with API integrations, RESTful services, and middleware connectivity patterns.

6. Experience working in a regulated industry such as financial services, healthcare, or public sector.

1. Working knowledge of the OneTrust platform, including modules for privacy and security management.

5. Proficiency in presentation and demo tools for customer-facing technical walkthroughs.

6. Strong written and verbal communication skills for producing clear technical documentation.

8. Understanding of identity and access management concepts, including single sign-on and multi-factor authentication.
