What you'll do

• Collaborate with engineering teams to design, develop, and enhance the core platform infrastructure that supports our financial services ecosystem.
• Build, deploy, and manage scalable, reliable systems utilizing AWS cloud services and Kubernetes orchestration to ensure high availability and performance.
• Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment, monitoring, and incident response processes, reducing manual effort and increasing system reliability.
• Maintain and improve platform security and compliance standards, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and best practices, including ITAR if applicable.
• Support ongoing platform operations by troubleshooting issues, resolving incidents, and implementing preventative measures to minimize downtime.
• Contribute to comprehensive documentation of architecture, deployment procedures, and operational best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding.
• Work closely with product and data teams to integrate new features, services, and APIs into the platform, ensuring seamless operation and scalability.
• Optimize system performance through capacity planning, load testing, and performance tuning to meet growing user demands.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and planning sessions to uphold high standards of quality and maintainability across the platform.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to platform engineering, and proactively recommend improvements to enhance our infrastructure.
• Support compliance and security audits by providing necessary documentation and implementing required controls within the platform infrastructure.
• Engage with support and customer success teams to understand operational challenges and implement solutions that improve system stability and user experience.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in platform or infrastructure engineering, with a proven track record of building and maintaining large-scale, distributed systems.
• Extensive knowledge of AWS cloud platform services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and others relevant to scalable infrastructure.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes container orchestration, including deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.
• Demonstrated ability to develop automation scripts and tools using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or similar.
• Familiarity with compliance standards and security best practices, especially in financial or regulated environments.
• Proven troubleshooting skills in complex, high-availability production environments, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve issues.
• Experience supporting systems that handle sensitive financial data, with an understanding of data security and privacy considerations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and operations staff.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of documenting processes, procedures, and architecture clearly and effectively.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and urgency, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
• Knowledge of or experience with compliance regulations such as ITAR is a plus.
• Prior experience working in a startup or high-growth environment is advantageous.

Nice to have

• Experience with TypeScript or Node.js development, especially in building platform components or automation tools.
• Familiarity with functional programming concepts and experience with the fp-ts library or similar frameworks.
• Knowledge of fintech or financial technology platforms, including payment systems, lending, or crypto integrations.
• Understanding of regulatory compliance standards applicable to financial services, including data security and privacy regulations.
• Experience working with cross-border or international compliance standards, especially if relevant to the company's operations.
