About the role
As a Staff Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer at OMNI, you will play a critical leadership role within the Solutions Engineering team, acting as a technical expert and strategic partner during customer engagements. Your primary responsibility will be to support enterprise clients by demonstrating the value of OMNI's AI analytics platform, guiding them through technical discovery, and leading complex proofs of concept (POCs). You will work closely with sales teams to identify customer needs, craft tailored solutions, and influence product development based on insights gathered from the field. This role involves engaging with a diverse set of companies across various industries and regions, providing technical guidance and fostering strong relationships to ensure successful adoption of OMNI's platform. You will also mentor other Solutions Engineers, help shape best practices, and contribute to the overall technical strategy of the organization.

What you'll do
- Collaborate with sales leadership to provide expert technical guidance on the most strategic and complex opportunities, helping to uncover and demonstrate the value of OMNI's platform to prospective customers.
- Lead technical discovery sessions, product demonstrations, and Proofs of Concept (POCs) for large-scale and intricate evaluations, ensuring prospective clients understand how to leverage OMNI's capabilities with their data.
- Assist customers in understanding how to use OMNI effectively on their data, providing technical support and best practices to ensure successful implementation and adoption.
- Mentor and coach Solutions Engineers, establishing and promoting best practices for discovery, demos, and POCs across the team.
- Partner with product management and engineering teams to influence the product roadmap based on patterns, feedback, and insights observed during customer engagements.
- Represent the Solutions Engineering organization in strategic, high-level conversations with executive stakeholders at customer companies, articulating technical value and aligning solutions with business objectives.
- Facilitate smooth transitions from trial phases into full customer onboarding by working closely with post-sales teams and partners, ensuring ongoing support and customer success.
- Develop technical documentation, resources, and training materials to support customer onboarding and enablement.
- Engage with customers to understand their unique data challenges and workflows, tailoring demonstrations and solutions accordingly.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive offerings to maintain OMNI's technical leadership and relevance in the market.
- Provide feedback to product teams based on customer interactions, helping shape future features and enhancements that meet market needs.
- Support the technical onboarding of new clients, ensuring they are equipped to maximize the platform's value from the outset.
- Collaborate with sales teams to develop tailored technical proposals and presentations that address customer pain points and showcase OMNI's unique capabilities.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment within the Solutions Engineering team.
- Participate in industry events, webinars, and conferences to promote OMNI's solutions and share technical expertise with the broader community.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in pre-sales business intelligence, Solutions Engineering, or Solutions Architecture roles supporting enterprise customers.
- Deep expertise with the modern data stack, including cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake and BigQuery, and transformation tools like dbt.
- Proven track record leading technical discovery, product demonstrations, and Proofs of Concept (POCs) with senior technical and business stakeholders at enterprise accounts.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead other Solutions Engineers, shaping team-wide technical practices and standards.
- Strong SQL skills, with extensive experience using SQL for analytics and data exploration.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging technical, non-technical, and executive audiences with clarity and confidence.
- Prior experience with business intelligence and enterprise data analytics tools such as Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms and transformation tools, and understanding of how they integrate within enterprise data ecosystems.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-touch, customer-centric environment, managing multiple engagements simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and craft innovative solutions.
- Experience supporting AI-driven analytics solutions and integrations, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and Slack, is a plus.
- Knowledge of enterprise security standards and compliance requirements, including ITAR, is advantageous.
- A proactive, collaborative mindset with a passion for technology and customer success.
