This Staff Full-Stack Engineer role centers on owning the complete lifecycle for Okta Workflows, transforming intricate identity requirements into robust, no-code automation. You will architect and deliver solutions that empower organizations like Netflix, MGM, and NTT to manage critical identity scenarios with speed and reliability. Your daily work will shape the secure, neutral infrastructure that enables businesses to embrace the future of AI and cloud automation. You will spearhead the design, construction, and maintenance of end-to-end features on the Workflows platform, ensuring that every component meets the highest standards of quality and performance. Your primary mission is to deliver high-performance, secure, and scalable capabilities on our no-code canvas, which serves both internal teams and a global customer base with unwavering reliability. You will lead technical initiatives that span frontend and backend services, driving technical excellence in scalability, maintainability, and operational resilience. A core part of this role involves building reusable and high-performance UI components that define best-in-class experiences for no-code builders who rely on intuitive interfaces. You will own services throughout their entire lifecycle, from initial implementation and testing through deployment, observability, and incident response, ensuring continuity and stability.

What you'll do

• Architect and implement end-to-end features for the Workflows platform, translating complex identity workflows into reliable no-code solutions.
• Build and maintain high-performance, secure UI components that provide an exceptional experience for no-code developers and operators.
• Design and develop robust backend services using Node.js and TypeScript, ensuring they scale efficiently for global customer demands.
• Leverage PostgreSQL, Docker, and Kubernetes to deploy, operate, and optimize applications in production-grade environments.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management and Design teams to refine feature requirements and define the technical approach for new capabilities.
• Partner with infrastructure and platform teams to troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and drive improvements in system reliability.
• Lead the full lifecycle of service ownership, including implementation, testing, observability, monitoring, and rapid incident response.
• Mentor engineers across the organization, elevating the standard of craftsmanship in testing, documentation, and scalable architecture.
• Participate in architectural reviews and cross-functional planning to align solutions with long-term platform goals.
• Establish and enforce team-wide engineering practices that promote quality, maintainability, and continuous improvement.
• Make smart technical tradeoffs in collaboration with architects to balance innovation, delivery speed, and operational stability.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of identity automation, ensuring the platform remains neutral, flexible, and future-ready for AI and cloud workloads.
• Ensure all deliverables meet rigorous security and compliance standards required for enterprise customers like Netflix, MGM, and NTT.
• Drive the adoption of best practices in testing, monitoring, and documentation to create a sustainable and transparent codebase.

Requirements

• Bring over eight years of experience building full-stack applications in a dynamic, agile environment with consistent delivery.
• Demonstrate advanced proficiency in TypeScript and ReactJS, building intuitive interfaces that reduce complexity for no-code users.
• Show deep expertise in Node.js frameworks such as Express, designing services that are both performant and maintainable.
• Possess proven experience with PostgreSQL, crafting queries and schemas that support high-throughput transactional workloads.
• Have hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, managing containerized applications through deployment and scaling.
• Display a strong history of deploying and operating applications in production settings, with attention to reliability and uptime.
• Exhibit comfort in making smart technical tradeoffs, aligning engineering efforts across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Maintain a non-negotiable passion for craftsmanship, covering testing, monitoring, documentation, and scalability in every deliverable.
• Commit to collaborating effectively with distributed teams, maintaining clear communication and transparency in all interactions.
• Adhere to strict security and compliance standards, ensuring all solutions protect identity and data at every layer.
