Product Operations Analyst
Job description
About the role
Numeral is building the future of tax operations for digital businesses. Across 47 states and more than 70 countries, regulations create a heavy lift for teams that must stay compliant while moving fast. The company removes this burden so organizations can focus on their core mission. Founded in 2023, Numeral is the largest and fastest-growing AI-native tax solution. It has raised over $57 million from Benchmark, Mayfield, Y-Combinator, and other investors. The company serves over 3,000 paying customers and has more than tripled its revenue every year since launch.
This role is Product Operations Analyst. You will architect analytics and reporting for tax workflows, owning the full journey from intake to partners. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys AI-Native tooling, navigating regulations, and building clarity from complex data. You will operate inside a fast scaling startup where speed and precision define daily output.
You will design intake structures that funnel messy tax data into usable formats for analysis. You will construct SQL queries and logic to transform raw events into metrics for product decisions. You will guide AI tools like Claude Code to accelerate query writing and surface insights faster. You will review outputs with stakeholders, ensuring metrics align with tax rules and product goals. You will ship dashboards and documentation that help teams understand performance and risk. You will coordinate with partners to validate data models and refine requirements over time. You will maintain operational visibility by tracking anomalies, delays, and edge cases in workflows. You will support iterative improvements that let the product adapt to shifting regulations.
The role requires one to three years of professional experience in analytical or product adjacent work. You must handle complex information with strong SQL capabilities and comfort wrangling datasets. You should use or wish to use AI tools such as Claude Code to amplify your productivity. You must thrive in a high autonomy environment typical of early stage startups. You must live in or be ready to move to San Francisco for this position. You must embrace uncertainty and want rapid growth within a scaling organization. You must work beyond standard hours when necessary to advance critical objectives. You must care deeply about user experience and solving the problems of digital businesses.
