Commercial Operations Manager
Job description
About the role
You own the operational backbone that allows our commercial team to function at scale, designing and maintaining the systems that turn strategic intent into executed deals. You work directly with the SVP of Sales & Partnerships to build and refine the operating layer that supports fast-moving commercial activity across the business. Your core responsibility is to ensure that every customer or partner interaction is prepared, organized, and followed through with precision and consistency. You will architect and manage the workflows, templates, and data structures that turn complex commercial information into clear, actionable insights for the team. This role requires you to coordinate inputs from multiple stakeholders, track next steps, and remove blockers so commercial leaders can focus on high-impact decisions. You are effectively the conductor of the commercial engine, making sure important work keeps moving forward without bottlenecks or miscommunication.
Key facts
What you'll do
Coordinate the end-to-end preparation of proposals, RFPs, and customer meetings to ensure commercial teams always present with the most current and accurate information.
Build and maintain a structured repository of templates, case studies, and partner-specific materials that the commercial organization can access and reuse efficiently.
Partner with sales leadership to track competitive RFP responses, analyze win/loss patterns, and translate insights into improved positioning and content.
Implement reporting dashboards and workflows using CRM and data tools to monitor deal progress, identify risks, and surface opportunities for intervention.
Leverage AI tools to research target accounts, structure complex information, draft initial versions of commercial materials, and summarize meeting notes.
Own the logistics and follow-up for partner events, ensuring that commitments are tracked, stakeholders are aligned, and outcomes are documented.
Collaborate with product and strategy teams to translate customer feedback and market signals into clear requirements and commercial narratives.
Manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, balancing urgent requests with strategic projects to keep the commercial pipeline healthy and predictable.
Support the development of pricing, packaging, and partnership positioning by organizing data and benchmarking information from external sources.
Establish clear documentation standards and playbooks that enable junior team members to execute commercial tasks with less supervision.
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders seeking operational support, ensuring timely responses and high-quality outputs.
Drive continuous improvement by analyzing cycle times, error rates, and handoff friction to streamline how commercial work is structured and executed.
Requirements
You have 2-3 years of experience in commercial operations, sales coordination, business operations, project management, marketing, or consulting in a fast-growth environment.
You are early in your commercial career but demonstrate strong ownership, curiosity, and the ability to learn complex systems quickly.
You are highly proficient in Google Slides and capable of creating polished, professional decks independently and under tight deadlines.
You have used HubSpot or a similar CRM and are comfortable learning new tools, platforms, and data views with minimal guidance.
You are exceptionally organized, able to structure ambiguous problems, and manage several workstreams at the same time without dropping the ball.
You are commercially curious and motivated to understand how deals are won, not just how tasks are completed in isolation.
You use AI tools naturally to research accounts, structure information, draft first versions of materials, and improve how work gets done.
You communicate clearly in English, both in writing and verbally, and are comfortable coordinating with colleagues and partners across time zones.
