About the role
You will architect and execute the European policy communications strategy that defines how Nscale is perceived by regulators and industry leaders across the continent. This role requires you to own the narrative on critical issues such as data sovereignty, cloud regulation, AI policy, and AI infrastructure within the European context. You will act as the primary thought leader, translating complex regulatory and technical developments into clear, accessible, and strategic messaging for diverse audiences. You will partner closely with Government Affairs, Legal, Business teams, and senior leadership to ensure consistent positioning and alignment on all key policy matters. Furthermore, you will build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, think tanks, trade associations, and industry bodies to amplify our credibility and reach. You will lead the creation of high-quality content, including briefings, position papers, op-eds, speeches, and consultation responses that advance our agenda. Finally, you will provide strategic counsel to senior stakeholders on policy communications and reputational matters, ensuring that Nscale is always represented as a credible and trusted voice in the European policy arena.

What you'll do
Develop and deliver a comprehensive European policy communications strategy aligned with business and regulatory priorities at Nscale.
Translate complex policy and regulatory developments into clear, accessible messaging for internal and external audiences, focusing on data sovereignty, cloud regulation, AI policy, and AI infrastructure.
Partner closely with Government Affairs, Legal, Business teams, and senior leadership to ensure consistent positioning on key issues affecting the European market.
Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, think tanks, trade associations, and industry bodies across Europe to foster trust and collaboration.
Lead the creation of high-quality content, including briefings, position papers, op-eds, speeches, and consultation responses that articulate our policy stance.
Support executive communications and engagement, including preparation for high-profile policy forums and events where Nscale's views are represented.
Lead communications on sensitive regulatory and sovereignty issues, including reactive and crisis scenarios that require immediate and precise messaging.
Monitor and analyse the European policy landscape, identifying risks, opportunities, and emerging trends that could impact Nscale's operations and strategy.
Define and maintain a consistent European narrative across PR and executive communications to ensure clarity and cohesion in all external messaging.
Provide strategic counsel to senior stakeholders on policy communications and reputational matters, offering insights that protect and enhance the company's standing.
Manage external agencies and partners where required to ensure that communications objectives are met efficiently and effectively.
Champion the integration of policy insights into marketing and product narratives, ensuring that regulatory understanding informs our broader value proposition.
Act as a key liaison with European regulatory bodies and industry groups, representing Nscale in discussions that shape the future of AI and cloud infrastructure.
Utilize advanced communication tactics to simplify technical or regulatory topics without diluting their strategic importance to decision-makers.
Requirements
7-12 years' experience in policy communications, public affairs, or corporate communications, demonstrating a sustained track record in complex environments.
Strong understanding of European policymaking and regulatory environments, including knowledge of EU institutions and key national markets relevant to AI and cloud services.
Proven ability to develop and execute communications strategies in complex, fast-moving environments where policy and regulation intersect with technology.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to simplify technical or regulatory topics for diverse audiences without losing accuracy.
Experience working with and advising senior executives and leadership teams, providing communications counsel that supports high-stakes decision-making.
Demonstrated ability to build credibility with external stakeholders across multiple European markets, fostering relationships based on trust and transparency.
Fluency in English plus at least one additional European language is essential (e.g., French, German, Spanish, Italian, etc.) to engage effectively with local stakeholders.
Experience in technology, infrastructure, or other regulated industries is strongly preferred, given the technical nature of Nscale's mission and market position.
A strong commitment to ethical communication practices, ensuring that all messaging is honest, clear, and aligned with the company's values.
The capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and delivering high-quality outputs under tight deadlines.
An understanding of data privacy and security considerations as they relate to communications about technology and infrastructure.
Willingness to engage with evolving policy frameworks and to adapt communication strategies as the European regulatory landscape develops.
