Director, AI Supply & Demand Planning
Job description
About the Role
Nscale is the GPU cloud engineered for AI. We provide cost-effective, high-performance infrastructure for AI start-ups and large enterprise customers. Nscale enables AI-focused companies to achieve superior results by reducing the complexity of AI development. Our GPU cloud bolsters technical capabilities and directly supports strategic business outcomes, including cost management, rapid innovation, and environmental responsibility.
We thrive on a culture of relentless innovation, ownership, and accountability, where every team member takes pride in their work and drives it with excellence and urgency. As an Nscaler, you'll build trust through openness and transparency, where everyone is inspired to do their best work. If you join our team, you'll be contributing to building the technology that powers the future.
The Director, AI Supply & Demand Planning role sits at the critical intersection of Sales, Finance, Product Engineering, and Supply Chain - ensuring AI workload configurations, and revenue forecasts are converted into accurate, actionable demand plans. You'll own the global demand forecast of certain core components and ensure alignment between commercial growth and infrastructure deployment capacity. This is a highly strategic and operational role that directly impacts capital allocation and infrastructure scaling decisions.
What You'll Do
Early on, you'll get deep on how demand signals currently flow through the business - helping to improve the existing forecast processes and mapping how commercial pipeline, customer contracts, and AI cluster configurations translate (or fail to translate) into BOM-level demand signals. You'll build relationships with the Sales, Finance, Product Engineering, Supply Chain teams, and external suppliers, and get a clear read on where forecast bias, misalignment, or blind spots exist today.
From there, you'll take ownership of the demand forecast. You'll build and maintain a rolling 18-24 month forecast, modeling demand volatility, ramp curves, and burst scenarios across customer segments. You'll integrate revenue forecasts with infrastructure capacity planning to ensure deployment readiness, align demand outputs with supply chain procurement and build strategies, and lead monthly demand reviews with commercial leadership - surfacing risks and trade-offs tied to infrastructure lead times, capital allocation, and supply availability as they emerge.
- Map how commercial pipeline, customer contracts, and AI cluster configurations currently translate into BOM-level demand signals and identify where the translation fails.
- Build and maintain a rolling 18-24 month demand forecast that models demand volatility, ramp curves, and burst scenarios across distinct customer segments.
- Integrate revenue forecasts with infrastructure capacity planning to ensure deployment readiness and alignment between demand outputs and supply chain procurement.
- Own the global demand forecast for certain core components and validate assumptions against real-time commercial pipeline changes.
- Lead monthly demand reviews with commercial leadership to surface risks and trade-offs related to infrastructure lead times, capital allocation, and supply availability.
- Establish close working relationships with Sales, Finance, Product Engineering, Supply Chain teams, and external suppliers to improve forecast accuracy.
- Develop a clear read on forecast bias, misalignment, and blind spots in existing demand planning processes and propose targeted improvements.
- Translate complex commercial signals into operational and financial plans that directly inform infrastructure scaling and procurement strategies.
- Support proactive scenario planning for a range of demand shocks and ramp scenarios to strengthen resilience and resource readiness.
- Drive continuous improvement of demand planning methodologies by incorporating lessons learned from execution outcomes and cross-functional feedback.
