About the role

The Infrastructure team based in Hyderabad is responsible for the development and maintenance of internal systems, specifically focusing on an asynchronous task runner and configuration management tools. In this role, you will be instrumental in creating robust and scalable platforms that empower our product engineers to deliver features to a vast user base exceeding 100 million. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of our services.

What you'll do

• Enhance and sustain the asynchronous task runner to accommodate the increasing global user base and ensure seamless performance.
• Collaborate closely with senior engineers to assess system performance and explore the integration of new technologies that can improve infrastructure capabilities.
• Participate in an on-call rotation, taking responsibility for managing production incidents and ensuring high service availability.
• Work in tandem with product teams to ensure that infrastructure aligns with business objectives and effectively supports feature deployment.
• Troubleshoot and debug live systems, managing failover processes to minimize disruptions to user experience.
• Design and implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify and address potential system issues before they impact users.
• Document processes and system architecture to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding of new team members.
• Engage in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in infrastructure engineering to drive innovation within the team.

Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in professional software engineering, with a strong focus on infrastructure development.
• In-depth knowledge of distributed systems, including an understanding of the trade-offs related to latency, consistency, and scalability.
• Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, adapting to changing priorities and challenges.
• A track record of taking ownership of complex technical issues and delivering effective solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, enabling collaboration with cross-functional teams and the ability to unblock challenges faced by other engineering groups.
• A practical mindset that balances technical excellence with the need for project speed and long-term maintainability.
