About the role
You will provide detailed financial analysis and underwriting for commercial real estate debt and equity transactions within the Production Debt + Equity team in Atlanta. In this role, you will own the end-to-end preparation of loan request packages, ensuring narrative analysis, property visuals, and compliance with investor guidelines are meticulously completed. You will conduct in-depth due diligence on borrowers and properties, calculating key metrics such as DSCR, LTV, and NOI to assess risk and value. You will coordinate directly with lenders, legal counsel, and third-party vendors to ensure smooth and timely transaction closings. You will manage lender relationships and internal updates within Salesforce, tracking all loan quotes and deal status proactively. You will support continuous lead generation and research using third-party platforms to identify new opportunities for the team. You will provide reliable, high-level client service to borrowers and internal stakeholders, maintaining a professional and responsive standard. What you'll do
- Undertake comprehensive underwriting of commercial real estate properties using historical financial statements, borrower models, projections, and market standards to determine reliable projected income and valuation.
- Compile loan request packages that meet company guidelines and investor requirements, including narrative analysis of the borrower, property, location, and market along with supporting visuals, maps, and photographs.
- Pre-close deals by compiling targeted lender lists, coordinating internal outreach, collecting loan quotes, and creating detailed quote matrices for borrower distribution while managing Salesforce updates.
- Support closing activities by acting as a liaison with the servicing department, collecting and reviewing due diligence items, ordering third-party reports, and reviewing lender documentation such as term sheets, commitments, and loan agreements.
- Conduct research and lead generation at the direction of senior management, sourcing ownership records, property transaction history, demographics, and sales and rent comparables from third-party and internal resources.
- Sustain continuous lead generation efforts through proactive prospecting using internal tools and third-party platforms to identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Provide best-in-class client service to lenders, borrowers, and internal teams by delivering reliable, high-quality support in a prompt, friendly, and professional manner.
- Collaborate closely with Managing Directors and Producers to ensure deal files are complete, accurate, and aligned with investor expectations and internal standards.
- Maintain detailed documentation and communication logs to support transparency and efficiency throughout the transaction lifecycle.
- Contribute to a culture of learning and improvement by participating in training initiatives and sharing insights from completed transactions with team members.
Requirements
- Hold a minimum of 2+ years of full-time financial analysis and or underwriting experience in Commercial Real Estate Capital Markets, with strong proficiency in agency CRE (Fannie/Freddie) underwriting preferred.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of various property types and their respective underwriting criteria.
- Hold a four-year college degree with a major in real estate, finance, accounting, or a related business field preferred.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of cash flow analysis and the ability to calculate key financial metrics such as Net Operating Income, Debt Service Coverage Ratio, Return on Cost, and Internal Rate of Return.
- Exhibit excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills to prepare clear reports and interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels.
- Be proficient in standard software tools including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to manipulate complex data sets and produce accurate models.
- Maintain the highest level of professionalism and integrity when handling confidential information and managing sensitive borrower and lender relationships.
- Be an active team player committed to inclusive collaboration, mentoring, and continuous development within a structured training environment.
- Comply with all company guidelines, regulatory standards, and internal control procedures during every phase of transaction execution.
