Solutions Engineer
Job description
About the role
Nooks is an applied AI lab building the Agent Workspace for GTM. The Solutions Engineer serves as the technical linchpin between our product and our most strategic sales efforts, owning the full lifecycle of complex deals from discovery through close. You will architect and execute the technical narrative that turns feature requests into executive-level business outcomes, ensuring our AI agents drive measurable value during every interaction. In this capacity, you are not merely supporting sales but acting as the primary decision-maker on the technical viability and strategic positioning of Nooks within the customer environment. You will leverage your engineering intuition to deconstruct ambiguous problems and construct scalable, logical pathways for implementation that compound over time. This role demands a rare blend of sales acumen and technical rigor, where your ability to command C-level stakeholders and run business reviews independently defines the success of the engagement. If you thrive at the intersection of product, sales, and customer success, you will be the person who shapes the trajectory of our highest-leverage deals.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Own the end-to-end technical sales lifecycle for a portfolio of concurrent deals, driving each from discovery and demo to kickoff and close with a mandate to secure decisions.
- Conduct deep discovery sessions to uncover latent business pain and translate functional requirements into a compelling technical narrative that resonates with executive stakeholders.
- Act as the primary technical authority for prospects during the trial phase, monitoring health scores and risk indicators to execute timely interventions that safeguard the relationship.
- Collaborate directly with Account Executives to co-develop deal strategy, determining the optimal timing and sequencing for introducing Nooks capabilities into the sales narrative.
- Synthesize insights from the field to generate actionable product feedback, creating a direct line between customer behavior during trials and the strategic direction of the product roadmap.
- Assume ownership of the Solutions Engineering playbook, identifying friction points in the sales process and building automation to amplify team efficiency and impact.
- Define and codify the standards of excellence for the SE function, creating reusable frameworks and playbooks that elevate the performance of the entire team.
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to validate hypotheses, ensuring that new features meet the rigorous demands of enterprise sales environments before launch.
- Leverage data and pattern analysis from your trial portfolio to forecast outcomes and refine the go-to-market strategy for maximum win rates.
- Serve as a mentor and thought leader within the SE organization, elevating the collective capability of the team through knowledge sharing and best practice development.
- Maintain a bias for action in ambiguous situations, iterating rapidly toward solutions even when documentation is sparse or problems are poorly defined.
- Utilize enterprise sales methodologies such as MEDDICC or MEDDPICC to deconstruct complex deals and align all stakeholders on a common path to value.
Requirements
- You possess prior experience in a quota-carrying or technical sales role, such as AE, SE, or hybrid, with demonstrable ownership of the pre-sale cycle.
- You exhibit a sales-first instinct where you treat every trial as a live pipeline opportunity, obsess over win rates, and generate urgency without creating artificial pressure.
- You have the capability to command a room containing senior stakeholders including CRO, CTO, and VP of Sales, running a business review confidently without relying on an AE for support.
- You have sufficient technical curiosity to navigate complex system architectures, possessing the logical instinct to understand how disparate systems connect even if you cannot write the code yourself.
- You engage in rigorous discovery by consistently asking "why is that a requirement?" before offering solutions, building a clear point of view before prescribing any technology.
- You operate with a bias toward action, favoring iteration toward a practical solution over waiting for ideal conditions or perfect information.
- You are comfortable owning ambiguous, undocumented, or broken work, demonstrating resilience and creativity when standard processes are unavailable.
- You hold familiarity with enterprise sales methodologies such as MEDDIC or MEDDPICC, which you view as a strong advantage for structuring high-stakes engagements.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with AI agent workflows and the technical constraints of large language models in a production environment.
- Experience working with CRM platforms like HubSpot or Salesforce to manage complex deal stages and stakeholder maps.
- Background in startup environments where agility and cross-functional collaboration are essential to success.
