Senior/Staff UX Researcher
Job description
About the role
We are seeking a Senior/Staff UX Researcher to establish a comprehensive understanding of our customers, which will guide Nexthink's investment decisions and product evolution. This strategic position involves developing a research program that reveals the mindsets, motivations, and cognitive frameworks of our customers, translating these insights into actionable frameworks that the entire organization can utilize. You will set the research agenda in alignment with our business strategy while prioritizing customer needs, ensuring that we focus on what truly matters rather than merely responding to requests.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Lead the development of a strategic research agenda that uncovers insights capable of influencing product and business strategies, going beyond simple feature inquiries.
- Create robust frameworks such as customer mindsets, segmentation, mental models, jobs-to-be-done, and journey maps to foster a shared understanding of our customers across the organization.
- Build trust with internal stakeholders who manage essential customer relationships to enhance collaboration.
- Collaborate with various teams, including field insights, product analytics, and data science, to synthesize qualitative and quantitative data into a cohesive narrative about our customers.
- Manage a proactive research program, prioritizing initiatives that will significantly impact the business rather than functioning merely as a support service.
- Influence product, design, and executive teams by translating research findings into clear strategic recommendations.
- Mentor designers, researchers, and product partners to enhance the overall research capabilities within the organization.
- Establish and refine the methodologies, tools, and standards of Nexthink's research practice as it evolves.

- A minimum of 8 years of experience in UX research for Staff level or at least 5 years for Senior level, with a proven history of research that has influenced product or business strategies.
- Experience in developing frameworks such as segmentations, customer mindsets, journey maps, or jobs-to-be-done that have been widely adopted within an organization.
- Practical experience exploring various ways that AI can enhance research operations and analyses.
- Demonstrated ability to design, validate, and analyze large-scale surveys and telemetry data.
- Proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, with the ability to work alongside data science and analytics teams to integrate behavioral data with customer experiences.
- Background in researching complex B2B or enterprise software, particularly in technical or IT-related fields, is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority; a strong communicator capable of engaging both executives and engineers.
- Experience in building or scaling a research practice, including methods, tools, and standards, is a plus.
- An advanced degree in human-computer interaction, psychology, anthropology, sociology, statistics, or a related discipline is advantageous, though equivalent professional experience is acceptable.
- Full professional proficiency in English, both spoken and written; knowledge of French is a plus.
- Willingness to travel 3 to 4 times annually for customer-related events.
- A portfolio or work samples that showcase research leading to significant organizational impact.
