What you'll do
- Manage the complete sales process, ensuring a seamless transition from initial outreach to final deal closure.
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of the NerdWallet Small Business product offerings and the necessary qualification criteria during the onboarding phase.
- Engage in proactive phone outreach to inform business owners about the best loan options available to them.
- Collaborate with a network of lenders to effectively connect them with appropriate business opportunities.
- Consistently achieve and surpass monthly sales objectives, contributing to the overall success of the sales team.
- Maintain an organized sales pipeline, tracking progress and ensuring timely follow-ups with potential clients.
- Utilize data-driven insights to refine sales strategies and improve conversion rates.
- Participate in regular training sessions and workshops to enhance sales techniques and product knowledge.
- Build and nurture relationships with business owners, providing them with ongoing support and guidance throughout the funding process.
- Adapt to feedback from management and peers to continuously improve personal performance and sales outcomes.
- Stay informed about industry trends and competitor offerings to effectively position NerdWallet's services in the market.
- Document all interactions with clients in the CRM system to maintain accurate records and facilitate team collaboration.
Requirements
- A minimum of one year of experience in sales, demonstrating a solid understanding of the sales process.
- At least six months of experience within the funding sector, showcasing familiarity with financial products.
- A background in areas such as merchant cash advances, small business lending, or commercial lending is preferred.
- Proven track record of managing a sales pipeline effectively and achieving performance targets consistently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Strong organizational skills, allowing for effective prioritization of tasks and independent time management.
- Resilience and adaptability when interacting with a diverse array of business owners and their unique needs.
- Willingness to accept constructive feedback and apply it to enhance sales performance.
- Ability to navigate complex sales discussions with confidence and professionalism.

Practical notes
This position is based in our New York, NY office, where daily collaboration and spontaneous learning are vital to success on the sales floor. Following the completion of training, which typically spans four to six months, employees who meet performance expectations may have the opportunity to work remotely for up to 20% of the month from any location within the continental United States.
