About the role
Multiverse is building the financial infrastructure required to support our rapid scaling across the UK, US, and Europe. The successful candidate will own our international controllership function, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our books across multiple legal entities. This role involves leading month end close activities, managing complex intercompany relationships, and driving the standardization of global accounting processes. You will be responsible for maintaining rigorous controls and risk documentation to safeguard the business as we grow. The position requires deep engagement with transfer pricing compliance, VAT filings, and supporting statutory audits. You will partner closely with advisors to ensure policies are accurately reflected in the ledger. In this environment, you will leverage automation and an understanding of AI tools to make the close process faster and more robust. This is a high-impact role where your work will directly enable our mission to build a diverse talent pipeline that transforms lives and businesses.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Assume end-to-end ownership of month end reporting and reconciliations for our international entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial close.
- Manage the full intercompany accounting cycle, including recharges, loan balances, eliminations, and the ongoing maintenance of intercompany agreements across the group.
- Act as the primary owner of transfer pricing compliance, maintaining pricing schedules, coordinating with external advisors, and ensuring ledger alignment.
- Lead the development and maintenance of the group's financial controls and risk framework, including RCM and SOX-lite documentation, testing, and remediation tracking.
- Serve as the first point of contact for international entity audit and statutory compliance, responding to queries from external auditors efficiently.
- Support legal entity restructuring and group reorganisations, capturing all associated accounting and tax implications to ensure accuracy.
- Identify, test, and implement process improvements within NetSuite to streamline workflows and reduce the close cycle time.
- Produce detailed analytical commentary on entity-level financial results for review by the Senior Finance Manager and CFO.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business activity into accurate accounting entries and reporting.
- Contribute to the evolution of the financial operating model, supporting global standardization and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with tax advisors to ensure transfer pricing documentation is current and correctly applied in financial systems.
- Oversee the accuracy of intercompany loan tracking and ensure timely settlement processes across all jurisdictions.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, or CIMA certification.
- Bring 2-5 years of post-qualification experience in a practice, multi-entity, or international finance environment.
- Demonstrate solid grounding in intercompany accounting, including recharges, eliminations, loan arrangements, and settlement processes.
- Show working knowledge of transfer pricing principles and experience supporting compliance work with external advisors.
- Have experience owning or contributing to a controls and risk framework, such as SOX, RCM, or internal audit, with hands-on documentation and testing.
- Possess strong NetSuite experience, with a preference for candidates who have built reports and driven workflow improvements.
- Consider German accounting knowledge (HGB/local GAAP) as a bonus, though not essential for the role.
- Exhibit a high attention to detail, with a proven commitment to clean reconciliations and tidy workpapers.
- Operate effectively as a self-starter, managing a varied workload and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate collaboratively, comfortably engaging with service providers and internal stakeholders at all levels.
- Show curiosity about automation and AI tools, exploring how these can enhance finance processes and controls.
- Thrive in a multi-jurisdictional accounting environment, navigating nuances across different legal frameworks.
- Display resilience and adaptability when managing complex compliance and regulatory requirements.

- Location is based in London.
- This is a full-time engagement.
- You may work from anywhere up to 10 days per year under our work-from-anywhere scheme.
