About the role
You will own the end-to-end Group financial reporting process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all Moonpig entities. You will lead the governance and oversight of financial controls, embedding robust processes that mitigate risk and support sound decision-making. In this position, you will act as a key liaison with external auditors, translating technical requirements into clear actions for internal teams. You will provide strategic finance input to the Board and Audit Committee, framing complex data into narratives that drive accountability and insight. You will take ownership of tax operations, coordinating with specialists to optimize structures and meet statutory obligations efficiently. You will guide sustainability and people reporting initiatives, aligning financial metrics with broader impact goals and stakeholder expectations. You will partner with treasury colleagues to safeguard liquidity, manage funding strategies, and support responsible financial planning. You will champion continuous improvement in finance operations, leveraging process redesign and technology to future-proof the function as we scale.

What you'll do
Lead the consolidation and delivery of Group management accounts, ensuring alignment with deadlines and robust commentary on drivers and variances.
Design and oversee the implementation of group-wide financial policies and controls, standardizing processes to enhance reliability and scalability.
Serve as the primary point of contact for statutory audits, coordinating evidence, responses, and remediation plans with internal and external stakeholders.
Partner with tax advisors to manage corporation tax computations, filings, and compliance, while monitoring legislative changes that affect the business.
Own the end-to-end process for external financial reporting, liaising with regulators, auditors, and rating agencies as appropriate.
Provide commercial finance support to business leaders, translating performance data into insights that inform strategy, investment, and prioritization.
Oversee elements of treasury activity, including cash forecasting and working capital monitoring, in collaboration with finance and operations partners.
Champion the integration of sustainability and governance metrics into financial reporting, ensuring consistency and transparency in disclosures.
Collaborate with HR and People teams to refine people-related metrics, aligning cost structures and investment cases with long-term workforce plans.
Support the delivery of digital transformation initiatives within finance, identifying opportunities to automate manual tasks and enhance data quality.
Contribute to the development of long-term finance strategy, aligning budgeting, planning, and forecasting cycles with business growth ambitions.
Act as a sponsor for key change programs, ensuring financial rigor is embedded from design through to implementation and benefit realization.
Champion data integrity and process discipline, establishing frameworks that enable confident decision-making and proactive risk management.
Represent Moonpig in sector and industry engagements, benchmarking performance and incorporating best practices into finance operations.
Requirements
Be professionally qualified as an accountant with relevant bodies such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA, with substantial post-qualification experience.
Have significant experience managing the full financial close cycle, including consolidation, reporting, and liaison with auditors in a listed environment.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS, with a proven track record of applying accounting standards to complex transactions.
Bring experience in tax compliance and related liaison with tax authorities, showing sound judgment in managing statutory obligations.
Show a solid background in internal controls, risk management, and governance, with familiarity with frameworks and regulatory expectations.
Have hands-on experience with treasury functions or cash management practices, including forecasting and banking relationships.
Exhibit a thorough approach to compliance, including data protection, anti-money laundering, and other relevant legal requirements.
Possess excellent stakeholder management skills, able to influence at senior level and translate technical finance concepts for non-specialists.
Hold the right to work in the UK and be eligible for employment under UK visa rules without requiring sponsorship from the employer.
Be willing to work in a hybrid capacity, attending the London head office on two dedicated days each week as specified in the role details.
Nice to have
Experience in the ecommerce or retail sector, with an understanding of unique commercial models, high transaction volumes, and customer-centric metrics.
Exposure to sustainability, ESG, or people reporting frameworks, and familiarity with related data collection and assurance challenges.
Background in a group or multi-entity environment, where you have coordinated finance, tax, and reporting across subsidiaries and jurisdictions.
Familiarity with finance transformation programs, including ERP upgrades, process standardization, and automation opportunities.
An interest in leveraging data analytics and visualization tools to enhance financial insight and storytelling for leadership.
Practical notes
This is a hybrid role based in our London Head Office, with an expectation of 2 days per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The role may be open to a 12 month fixed term contract as an alternative to permanent employment, depending on business needs and candidate suitability.
