The Security Administrator acts as a technical expert and escalation resource for the Service Desk on security incidents. What you'll do

• Monitor, analyze, and report on corporate security systems and security applications to detect anomalies.
• Review infrastructure designs for security vulnerabilities and assess policies in light of security best practices.
• Investigate and resolve security breaches and vulnerability issues to prevent future incidents.
• Support forensic activities and digital review as well as evidence collection for security incidents.
• Conduct user activity audits to ensure compliance and support business regulatory requirements.
• Perform internal network vulnerability scanning and external penetration testing, then resolve identified issues.
• Act as a point of escalation for Service Desk incidents and requests related to security matters.
• Regulate physical security systems including security camera systems and access control systems.
• Review and evaluate the security of enterprise software code to identify potential weaknesses.
• Understand and review current and future router and firewall access control lists for adherence to security policies.
• Adhere to IT and corporate standards and security policies while assisting with recommendations for changes.
• Assist with the development of new security standards and policies associated with risk mitigation and security event response.
• Conduct thorough assessments to ensure compliance with business regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the organization's security objectives.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• Bring 5-8 years of relevant experience, with a strong focus on information security (the source specifies 35 years of experience in information security as a reference point for senior roles; this position requires the demonstrated depth that comes from substantial experience).
• Obtain the Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) certification.
• Demonstrate competence with networking, hardware, software, and server systems technologies.
• Show proficiency in parsing security and server logs to identify potential threats.
• Exhibit competence in IT security best practices and established methodologies.
• Possess skill with router/firewall access control lists (ACLs), virtual private networks (VPNs), and complex routing scenarios.
• Be proficient with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, and the two latest versions of Microsoft Windows.

Nice to have

• Earn a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Hold the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) Certification.
• Familiarize yourself with Software as a Service (SaaS) security concepts to enhance cloud protection strategies.
• Develop understanding of application development best practices to support secure coding initiatives.
• Gain experience with Linux operating systems, Checkpoint firewalls, and various scripting languages to broaden technical capabilities.
