Senior Sourcing Manager, Technology
Job description
About the role
Mercor organizes human expertise to train and improve frontier AI systems and brings that infrastructure to large enterprises. The posting describes a profitable Series C company valued at $10 billion, with domain experts on the platform paid over $4 million per day, plus Enterprise offerings for Fortune 500 firms. Procurement here is treated as a growth lever, not a back-office bottleneck. As Senior Sourcing Manager, Technology, you lead commercial sourcing and negotiation across software, AI, cloud, infrastructure, security, developer tools, and other business-critical vendors. You partner with Engineering, Security, Product, Finance, Legal, IT, and Operations so Mercor can adopt tools quickly, lock commercial frameworks that scale, and keep supplier economics competitive. Ownership is high: you handle deals from tactical buys through multi-million-dollar strategic agreements, including relationships at $1M+ scale.

What you'll do
- Own end-to-end sourcing and commercial negotiation for technology and related business services categories.
- Align Engineering, Security, Product, Finance, Legal, IT, and Operations stakeholders on deals that let teams move fast without losing commercial control.
- Structure agreements that weigh speed, flexibility, cost, and longer-term business value together.
- Negotiate independently from smaller purchases up through $1M+ strategic vendor relationships.
- Run competitive sourcing events, pricing strategy, contract talks, renewals, and ongoing supplier management.
- Bring market and commercial insight into vendor and investment decisions.
- Help design procurement processes that scale with growth instead of adding friction.

- 7+ years in strategic sourcing, procurement, vendor management, or commercial negotiations.
- Proven negotiation of complex software, SaaS, cloud, AI, infrastructure, or technology agreements, including $1M+ strategic deals.
- Commercial judgment that produces creative, durable agreements both sides can live with.
- Strong stakeholder management with Engineering, Security, Product, Finance, and Legal partners.
- Solid analytical, financial, and negotiation skills.
- Builder instincts suited to a high-growth environment.
- Interest in commercial frameworks that help the business adopt technology faster and scale with less waste.
Skills & tools
Strategic sourcing and RFx discipline; SaaS/cloud/AI/infrastructure contract structuring; cross-functional commercial negotiation with security and legal review loops; renewals and supplier relationship ownership.
Category coverage is broad on purpose: software, AI, cloud, infrastructure, security, developer tools, and business services all sit in scope when they are commercially material. The role is described as highly visible, with significant ownership of outcomes rather than pure coordination. Speed of technology adoption at Mercor is an explicit goal of the commercial frameworks you negotiate, balanced against cost and long-term value.
Renewals and supplier relationship management are part of the job, not only new awards. Market insights from sourcing events should influence vendor and investment choices with Finance and business owners. Process design for procurement is expected to remove friction as headcount and vendor volume grow, while still protecting commercial rigor around $1M+ agreements.
Practical notes
Valuation, payout, and category claims are taken from Mercor's posting and are not independently verified here. Confirm office location assignment, equity details, stipend eligibility, and which site (San Francisco, NYC, or London) you would join Stakeholder management is continuous: Engineering and Security care about capability and risk, Finance cares about structure and total cost, Legal cares about terms, and Operations cares about whether agreements are workable day to day. Your job is to hold those threads together while still closing commercially sound deals.
