About the role
You will own the end to end recruitment lifecycle for critical positions within our GTM and Operations organizations based in New York City. In this role, you will act as a strategic partner to General Managers, aligning hiring objectives with business priorities for teams that directly support leading AI laboratories. You will establish the foundational processes and standards that define elite hiring execution at Mercor from the very beginning. This position requires a high level of ownership and initiative to design a repeatable and scalable recruiting motion in a fast moving environment. You will leverage data and feedback to continuously refine the candidate journey and improve quality of hire. Key facts
What you'll do
- Own full cycle recruiting for a diverse set of roles including marketing, finance, people operations, with a strong emphasis on operations, executing sourcing, screening, and closing.
- Partner with business leaders to map out evolving hiring needs and implement continual process improvements that increase efficiency and clarity.
- Build top of funnel pipelines using creative outbound techniques, talent intelligence, and Mercor's own product including structured screens and automated work samples.
- Coach hiring managers and interviewers on structured interviewing practices, leveling candidates, and maintaining decision hygiene throughout the process.
- Operationalize hiring systems and frameworks, tracking and optimizing key funnel metrics such as pass through rates, time in stage, and source yield.
- Champion speed and quality by driving service level agreements for same day debriefs, fast offers, and consistently strong candidate experience.
- Build and execute employer branding campaigns, manage referrals, and participate in events that attract top engineers and operators.
- Represent Mercor externally in a professional capacity, serving as the face of the brand in a highly competitive market for talent.
- Collaborate with cross functional partners on dashboards, metrics definitions, and process automation using Ashby and other recruiting systems.
- Refine technical recruiting practices as the Operations organization shifts to hire more frequently from technical backgrounds.
- Assess candidate fit against rigorous criteria, ensuring alignment with the specialized requirements of roles interfacing with frontier AI labs.
- Drive continuous feedback loops between stakeholders and candidates to iterate on sourcing strategies and improve conversion rates.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience with full cycle recruiting for individual contributor and leadership roles across diverse functions.
- Proven ability to build, scale, and optimize hiring systems, identify meaningful key metrics, and make data driven decisions.
- High motor, outcome oriented approach with a bias for action, understanding that Mercor is in hypergrowth and hiring is a key strategic driver.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills enabling efficient collaboration with General Managers, Account Leads, and internal leadership.
- Familiarity with a broad range of roles, with an emphasis on GTM, Strategy, and Operations, and some mastery of technical roles such as Software Engineers or Foundation Data Engineers.
- Confident and credible in representing the Mercor brand to top candidates in a competitive talent landscape.
- Experience with or the capacity to quickly adopt Ashby or similar recruiting platforms and automation tools.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, accuracy, and discretion when handling sensitive hiring information.
- Willingness to engage deeply with cross functional stakeholders to align on priorities and resolve hiring challenges.
- Dedication to equity and inclusion in sourcing practices, ensuring fair evaluation of all candidates.
- Reliability in meeting deadlines and delivering consistent results in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
